Usually one spectacular storm to clear the air around mid August- but doubt if there will be enough water for the waterfall!
The north always has more rain as it has the highest hills though! |

Really! We've never, ever had a single spot of rain during our numerous hols in August. Although it often looked like rain to the north/north east of the island, where the cloud gathers by the mainland, the west coast always remained clear and dry as a bone. But you never know, if the rain appears this year we'll make the most of it and go to the waterfall!

Had coffee at Chris's Place today, the view was magical, so clear- and so quiet.

Can you drive near to the waterfalls or is it a hike?
Angela's is definitely on our list, we went there last year. A very memorable experience with fantastic local food and the nicest people. Mon Repos sounds a nice idea. Thanks again. |

Why not set out to find the Waterfalls above Roda. You should find this fun and you will see some wonderful sights. Good luck. ![]() |

Visit Kanoni and look down on the end of the airport runway. Wander down to sea level and cross the causeway to the other bank. You can watch the aircraft passing right over your heads. The younger members of your group are sure to love it.

I would second Old Perithia and take the walk to the noney man and buy some of that too!! - while you are there
But I would also suggest, on a hot day, a drive to Mon Repo which is set in beautifully cool mature park and woodland. There is a lot to see too apart from the exhibition in Mon Repos, the grounds are full of excavations of which Corfu is sadly lacking Afterwards you can make you way to the headland and have a coffee in the taverna overlooking Mouse Island and the airport. I am sure the kids would love to see just how short the runway they arrive and leave from is Apart from that just explore the inland areas behind Acharavi and Kassiopi, there are a couple of tavernas up high with wonderful views and being higher up the air is much cooler |

Angela's cafe bar does not have a menu as such. When they are open the menu is dependant on what they have in the fridge. By discussion you are able to order a meal that suits your tastes. It is a truly unique location. The roof terrace offers unique views over the local area.

Jan's suggestions are great, we love a trip over to Petriri and Boukari from AG. The road up from Prasoudi to Paramonas and Pentati is just a single track but you are not likely to meet much traffic. Once you get to Pentati park near Angela's or Chris's and walk down to the old harbour, there is a little beach and a lovely view of Agios Gordios.

If you follow one of the ideas in the previous post and return to Agios Gordios through Pentati, be sure to drop into Angela's or Chris's Place for at least a drink or possibly food. Both locations have first class views over Agios Gordios.

Head south from Ag. Gordios to Kato Garouna and Ag. Mattheos. From there join main road south.
If you go left off this road you can visit Petriti and Boukari, both unspoilt, places to swim and eat the freshest fish possible. If you go right off the main road you can go to Vitalades, Marathias, and Issos (avoiding a large resort like Ag. Georgios) Or just go to Agios Mattheos, down to the beach past Gardiki castle beyond the lake (Halikounas), or at the castle bear right to Prasoudi beach, on to Paramonas and then the narrow coast road that winds through Pentati and ends up back at Ag. Gordios. |

Some great ideas there, thank you. I like the idea of a scenic drive, view points and a lovely taverna and a swim at the end. Sounds about perfect!

Try the NW coast drive via Paleo, up the mountain past Bella Vista to Makrades. Here go and visit Angelokastro (remnants of ancient cliff-top fort). Then drive on as far as Vistonas but turn left and go to Pagi village (stopping to take photos of the wonderful panorama from the top of the 'hill' on the way).
Go down and through Agios Georgios north and make you way to the lovely village of Afionas on the headland. Here you can drink or eat at a choice of several tavernas with stunning coastal views. You can also walk down to the remote twin coves of Porto Timoni. You don't need to return the same way but instead just drive around the head of the valley via Dafni, Agros, Trombeta etc |

Have a look at Steve Ford's book "Corfu villages" and have a trip out one one the undiscovered gems for a lovely lunch. (google it and you can download it and print it off, or put it on your kindle...money goes to charity)
