We are a retired couple planning to spend April/May 2013 in Corfu. Would like to get information on the weather and also looking to rent a small one bedroom apartment with kitchen facilities. We do not need a pool or any fancy appointments.

Hello Dafnordad and a warm welcome to the Site.
In truth April/May isn't usually described as "Winter". The Agni Travel Guide gives the following weather guidance for April and May - and other Months.
The Beginning of May: Very quiet beaches and Tavernas. Spring flowers in abundance and a very green and fresh Corfu. Perfect for walking. Weather wise expect warm sunny days. Temperatures of mid 20's. At night, the FireFlies start to Dance. Hope this is of some help to you. David |

Could everyone please remember that we do not allow links to sites offering accommodation for rental or private offers of rental either by post or pm as we cannot guarantee the legality of the rental ie. EOT Licence, etc. May I suggest Dafnordad that you google "Apartments for rent in Corfu, Greece" where you will find plenty of websites offering accommodation. Good luck with your search.

This year May was not too good, I had friends out and some days had to light the wood stove to warm the house. It can be absolutely wonderful though, the island is fresh and green and the flowers spectacular, but I would choose an apartment with some form of heating.
Not sure when Easyjet starts next year, but this year was the last week of March, as was Ryanair if remember correctly.

Hi we stayed in May this year and the weather was not very good, lots of storms but also nice warm days as well, it does not get too hot either, it depends what you want. The weather did not spoil our holiday at all, we went on the 14th May this year, for 14 nights, second week was much nicer and warmer, hope this helps you,
