Been on to them this week, prices out in two weeks but they will give you villa only price now if you have one in mind and you can put 10% deposit on if its available then upgrade it to package when they get car hire and flight prices. We might do that to make sure we get villa we like again next year...might see you fishing again

Unfortunately no as we will just be spending the 4 weeks money in 2 weeks next time.
Getting a villa and minibus and bringing one of Joes day centre staff to help look after him.
Rosies mam will be coming too along with Johnboy and Jazzmin and maybe our friend John as well!

Well looks like I will be able to meet some more forum members next year as hoping to book from the 10th June next year when I get the holidays confirmed from work. Looks like June is going to be a popular month for everyone.

Might be wrong but I think I might have met you Weshamers at the Bella Vista last year?

Hi, we are new to Corfu and are going in September to villa Sparta. Has anyone stayed there? Is Avalaki nice?

Date Posted: 27 Jun 2012 at 5:04pm
Hi
Avlaki has nice beaches and is a lovely place but a bit quiet in my opinion
Having said that so is Kassiopi or at least it was in May as usually quiet is.... but in May the weather when we went was horrendous but is looking much better now which is always a plus

Have a great holiday and lets know about it lol so I can forget mine Smile

Kidding I love Kass but have never ever in 24 years walked down the main street with my jeans rolled up above my knees as I did 5 weeks ago lol.And had planes diverted to Athens or Italy ...oh well all down to experience

still love the place x

OOPs also noticed the first time you are going Please do not let me put you off it will be great ....if it was not I wouldnt still go back .I have been with my children ...myself...and now my hubby so it does suit all     Wink

Argostoli in 12 weeks!

Date Posted: 28 Jun 2012 at 1:59pm
We stayed in Avlaki 3 years ago - loved it.  It's very quiet, but that's how I like it. We stayed at Bella Vista and had the pool to ourselves most of the time. 2 tavernas, both very good. We alternated eating there and driving to Ag Stef for dinner - wonderful!
There is a random donkey who wanders about along the road, and just appears silently at your shoulder when you don't expect him! No shops. Horse riding place is lovely and Dimitri is great. Even if you don't ride, go along for a visit and say hello to the horses under the olive trees.

Go to the horseriding centre end of the beach, sit down on the sand and enjoy the beautiful sunset.

Simple pleasures - you'll have a lovely time.

Hi Oddsoc, Villa Sparta is more Coyevinas which is closer to Kassiopi, its down a little lane opposite the boat yard on the way to Avlaki, about 5-10 minutes walk away, we have stayed in Levanda which is in the same lane, beautiful quiet area a lovely beach at the end of the lane, although stoney has superb views and you get a nice breeze in the afternoon. Its close enough to walk in to the village but far enough away to give you the best of both worlds, we usually always stay in this area its our favourite.
PS - The donkey is so sweet, he does suddenly appear out of no where bless him/her!

I am sure you will have a great time.

We`ve seen or rather heard the donkey for past couple years but no sign of it first two weeks June this year. The area is wonderful in and around Avlaki and we have our fingers crossed that villa we have stayed in past three years will be available next year, hoping to book for three weeks

Frilly, we came home on the 4th June so I think we just overlapped you and we saw him twice, once he was in the fenced off woodland next to the first taverna leaning right down over the fence having a good old munch and the next time just wandering up the road quite alone, we were in the car but there was this couple standing there at a loss as to what to do next! Wink

We did visit Frosini Gardens and met George the manager who showed us round the rooms. They are lovely as is the reception area, bar and pool. They have done a really good job and George is so helpfull and friendly, they also gave us the use of there pool while we were in Kassiopi even though we were staying elsewhere.

Where are you staying in September? Do you  go to the same place?

Hi Oddsoc,
We dont stay in the same apartments every time but we are at the Andreas pool this time and its the second time we have been there. We go where the best deals are and we always stop in the village.
Hope you have a lovely time in Avalaki never stopped there but have been down to the beach quite a few times as it is a lovely beach.
We are lucky we have a good excuse to go every year as my brother in law lives in Kassiopi so we have to go and see him and my sister in law. We had our honeymoon in Kassiopi so it is a very special place for us.

Hi Angela
You go the day we come home, going the 7th for 2 weeks so Rob will be able to spend his birthday with his family for a change. I might still be there when you get there though cause I have told work if I dont get my holidays I will put my notice in. Lost one set of apartments (we were going to book the Lofos originally) because work has held onto next years holidays so I wasnt going to lose this holiday so booked it without any holidays booked in at work.

Very up and down at the moment with the Cyprus problems etc.
Its anyones bet when to get some but we will be taking sterling with us and changing it in Kassiopi so we will get what we get.
Last September when we went we got a good rate but in the June we got quite a bit less.
At the end of the day we are in Corfu and everything else is a bonus.

Hi Daveneil,
All I can advise is to keep an eye on the exchange rate and try to judge when it is best to buy. I have been watching it this week and it has risen from 1.14 on Monday to 1.18 today, which I assume is due to the Cyprus problems.

A month ago the interbank rate was 1.15430 so you got 10 cents to the pound more than the banks were getting. Wow.

The post office rates are usualy pretty lousy but they have handiness in their favour.

Thats the idea Dave...Best bit about changing over in Kassiopi is you get a safety deposit box to put your bits and pieces in, saves you lugging it all around with you where ever you go. I never go looking for the highest exchange rate because it will only be one or two cents difference from one end of the village to the other...Clap
