Has anyone noticed any much change in the prices of drinks and eating out so far this season? With the VAT going up at least twice (even three times?) since last September, I wondered whether the bars and restaurants have had to apply the extra to their tarriffs.

On a lighter note, the first JET2 flight of the season out of Newcastle seems to have left on time, and should be arriving in Corfu in approx 5 minutes. Three weeks today that will be me, my wife and in-laws. Bring it on.

Hope to see some of you round the resort from 11 June.Tongue

Hi

I was on the NE coast at the begining of May and found that, generally, prices were very much as last year and in some cases a little cheaper.  For example, one place that I use regularly is now charging 3.50 for a large Mythos, rather than 4.00 last year.  Food was also slightly cheaper (but I think the portions were also a little smaller - probably no bad thingWink.

I always think it's awkward to suggest how much money to take as we all do different things. If you like to go out for a meal and then hit the bars you'll need to take more than we do.

We usually allow 30 euros a night for a meal for two. We don't have a starter or dessert but do have wine. We usually have a couple of boat trips so that's 32 euros a time. About 500 euros will cover our meals for the fortnight and food at the studio plus trips. Then it's really any extras we might have..like gallons of Mythos etc. No,. seriously, it really depends on what sort of things you do in Kassiopi.

I hope this helps Alehouse, bit as I said, it all depends on what you do when you're there.

Rich.

That's almost philosophical Davyboy!!

That sounds like good news on the prices from the point of view of visitors to Corfu.

My trip in May (mentioned above) was a "boys weekend" away, so the drinks bill was probably higher than normal! That said, we spent about 16/17 Euros per head on an evening meal in San Stephanos, including a couple of litres of wine, a beer, but no starter or dessert.
