Right here goes...Yesterday I was told by my doctors that all the treatment that I've had over the last 18 months for this cancer of the bladder hasn't worked.
 
Now I'm to old to spend my time again visiting five different hospital for treatment..regardless of how well the NHS staff treated me..which was 100% dedicated and professional.
 
So the three option's my doctors gave me were (1) more treatment (2) reconstruct a new bladder from the old one (3) remove the bladder completely and wear a bag.  
 
I've gone for number 3,  I've already given my reason why I don't want number one and number 2 would involve me having to train and time myself to pee every two hours for the rest of my life.
 
Removing the bladder involves a 2/3 week stay in hospital and 3/6 months to get back to how I am now.
 
So thats my little story...I did type a much longer one but this poxy PC of mine decided to throw a wobbly and I lost it... I never knew that I knew so much FrenchAngry.

Hi Bruce,
Sorry to hear that your treatment hasn't worked.  Cry I think that you have made the right choice for yourself. Not only that, no more queueing up to use the loo at Kostas. Haha. 
Let's hope that they get you sorted soon and then, no more worries, you can look forward to your holiday in Kassiopi in July. Thumbs Up

So with Option 3 is it larger than the 100ml you're allowed to carry through passport control. If so do you have to taste it to prove it's ok.....Dead

Yes, it gets me into trouble sometimes (have you seen the caption competition)...lol....Hope everything goes well for you, just remember though especially if you've had a few & you're "splashing it all over", it might not be Brut but BRUCE..!!!

I know I shouldn't make light of my illness but that's the way I am...I look at it like this, I have it so I must make the best of it...I could go into the doldrums but what good is that going to do me, sweet fanny Adams, 
 
The Macmillan Nurse bless her lovely heart said I should consider canceling my holiday...I mean that's worse than telling Brucie Boy his illness is terminal..I was speechless and thats doesn't happen often believe meBig smile

Bruce, you have made a good choice there, the one that works for you!  I am so sorry that the treatment didnt work, but, if the option you have chosen allows you to continue visiting your beloved island for many more years then that is the best choice! So today I made a decision not to cancel my holiday just yet, I'll see how it goes and believe me if I don't think I can manage it I wouldn't go, I wouldn't  put anybody out because of my stubbornness especially our Greek friends who by the way have been in touch.
 
So God willing I make a good recovery by the end of July, failing that then maybe October, we'll just have to see how it goes.Thumbs Up

Lizzy my love, I don't get there till late on the 29th and there's only 30 days in July that means you and me would have to meet up on the Monday or Tuesday for a Beer.

Dunno if I can message on this... I was only a one star member last time I checked!! (After all these years I hear you say!).

Anyway, presuming I can... Bruce m'dear, well done, its the best choice you could make.  I had one myself for a brief while after having surgery a few years back, I appreciate it's very different to a permanent situation, but must admit it was great not having to worry about needing a pee!!!

Very best of luck to you, I hope and pray that the surgery and recovery goes well, and maybe I'll catch up with you and Maria in Kass this summer xxxx Bill
