Sitting in a restaurant one night in Acharavi---a hearing impaired person came into the restaurant and placed his goods on various tables along with his card explaining his predicament! 

We handled our object---not impressed as it had very little gas in it!
No flint as such as we found it hard to get a flicker out of this phallic symbol of a cigarette lighter!!

This lighter---resembled nothing like Greek statues that we had seen in the shops.

A party of about eight on the next table had paid their bill and where ready for the off!

The impaired of hearing man soon came back to retrieve his goods or his 5 euros!
No 5 euros and no cigarette lighter!!

The look on his face was one of dismay and disappointment!

We can only assume that a member of the large party had inadvertently picked up the lighter by mistake, as they gathered their belongings up consisting feeding bottles, story books and childrens toys!

Mr M---feeling so sorry for the Phallic symbol seller---decided to buy the one he left on our table!

I told him he was nuts!!

The lighter was thrown into a bedside cabinet on our return home---in case the spirit moved us to use incase of a powercut !

The following week---Mr M went to the airport to collect my two younger sisters---I say younger they were 53 and 57!!

I could hear them coming down from the village a mile away-as at that time of night sound did carry!

Hoots of laughter a few four cake words describing the cat poo and the lack of street lighting---and even a question of why we don't write to the council and demand that these things be put right!!

Onto the patio they came like a herd of elephants---suitcases on wheels making such a clatter!

After a few drinks---the description of their journey from the aiport and something to eat---it was time to go upstairs and unpack their many clothes!

Mr M and I had been busy with their sleeping arrangements!

My two sisters had a single bed each!

Myself and Mr M still in our double bed---but all in the one bedroom!

They had even been provided with their very own porta loo--a nice new bucket from Dielas!

Only one request from Mr M---Was that we all slept in our knickers for modesty reasons!

All unanimous on that suggestion! 

Sitting on the patio---we could hear doors being closed, metal coathangers swinging into each other, windows wide open, wardrobe doors being slammed---bliss!

We then heard uncontrolable laughter coming from one of my sisters!

My other sister had obviously gone to see what she was laughing at!

One of them then said---Do you think they know it's there?

My sister was heard to reply---put it back and pretend we haven't seen it!

Nooo my other sister said---they might need it!

How can they need it when there are four of us in one bedroom was a question from one of them!!

The unpacking continued---by then, I had twigged as to why all the laughter!

They had found although it wasn't hidden the Phallic Symbol of a cigarette lighter.

It took a lot of convincing  that this symbol had only one use---and that was to light a candle in the night if we had a powercut and some one needed the porta loo!
