Overview
Angsana is a tropical tree with a crown of golden fragrant flowers which bloom unexpectedly for one day, then close and suddenly bloom again. The tree teaches us to live life spontaneously, to sense the moment and to savour time as it passes inexorably.
A sweeping driveway leads right up to the front door of the villa which is situated above the village of Kendroma overlooking magical views of the northeast coast, across the sea channel and right into the heart of Albania opposite. Set high on a hillside, the villa is not however isolated, and tavernas, bars, beaches and shops are only a short drive away. The property has access to tracks that wind across the hills and provide a great variety of immensely satisfying walks.

Kentroma - Above Agni Bay
Kentroma is typical of the small villages that are to be found
along the north east coast of Corfu, in that there is more to it
than meets the eye! The main road runs through what appears to
be the village centre, with its highly traditional village
cafeneion - only locals to be seen sitting outside - and rounds
a sharp bend before continuing up the coast, but most of the
village remains hidden from the sight of those passing through.
Cross the small paved square with its fountain donated by a
generous inhabitant, and you come to the concealed cobbled
alleys of the old village, dropping steeply downhill, lined with
solid stone houses. Simple shopping needs can be met at the
cafeneion, and the beach and tavernas of Agni are only just over
a kilometre away. |

The above Agni Travel map (click to download), shows the location of Villa Angsana which is in Kendroma above Agni Bay.

What Is Nearby
Agni Bay
Agni Bay is home to Taverna Agni and Agni Travel. In Greek Agni means un-spoilt and
this describes Agni perfectly - just
three Tavernas (each with their own jetty for mooring up to) and a sprinkle of
local buildings. The bay is reached mainly by rented motor boats, although recently
there is now a narrow road down into the bay: Agni Corfu
Kalami
The bay of Kalami nestles below the hills of the North East Corfu and is famous for
both its beautiful beach, and Lawrence Durrell's 'White House'. A popular destination for couples, Kalami is also
ideal for a family holiday with tavernas, safe swimming, water sports and
boat hire - everyone is catered for! Kalami Corfu
Kaminaki Corfu
Corfu's north-east coastline is spectacularly beautiful, but has remained uniquely unspoilt in spite of its celebrity-status.
Kaminaki is one of the small and enchanting bays that stud this coastline like jewels on a necklace. Still only a hamlet, with village houses occupied by their original local inhabitants, it has a mixture of modern and converted accommodation, two unpretentious tavernas (and others within easy reach), and water of Caribbean colours that laps against a gently shelving beach of pure white pebbles. One small shop and a complete absence of noisy evening entertainment are other virtues - evenings end here with a quiet drink overlooking the sea, conversation with new or old friends, and perhaps a skinny dip to round things off!
Kaminaki has its following of faithful visitors who return each year, and it is not hard to see that anyone could soon become addicted to this very special combination of exquisite scenery, perfect bathing, water sports suitable for kids and adults, and sheer, undemanding relaxation in a friendly atmosphere. Hire a boat and explore the lovely bays along the coast, or stay put and unwind - Kaminaki makes it all possible.

Nissaki Corfu
Nissaki is a small, pretty resort with a horseshoe-shaped beach of fine pebbles, offering excellent swimming and water sports. There are several tavernas specialising in Greek cuisine. A small harbour shelters the many little fishing boats that are moored there and there is a jetty/collection point for the Taverna Agni water taxi which offers an evening service to Taverna Agni and a twice-weekly trip to Corfu Town (a small charge is payable to help with the running costs): Nissaki Corfu
