As you may have noticed some posts have been deleted, This in an effort to keep the threads on subject

In order to do this some of the posts are deleted by the moderators, so if you have noticed your posts dissapearing it's because you are going off track!!!

We hope you all understand why this has to be done, as it makes the threads easier to follow and makes sure specific questions are answered

I have to say I thought I had lost some the other day. And I was just off to delete some on request of a member and they had gone too.  I have to say i thought I was going mad at that point.

Was that you Steve?

Julia

Not guilty!! I havent deleted that many!!

Some of the posts are pointless that I have deleted, so they are deleted in order to try to keep the boards easy to follow.

Please try and keep your posts on track, if you wish to ask a specific question then please start a new thread.

Steve, although I like to keep threads on track, they often will stray a little - that often is the fun.

I think deleting Heather's posts was a little mean. In future please just move any 'wondering' posts to another thread.

The ONLY reason for deleting a post is if it is offensive (esp racist), potentially libelous,  or not in keeping with the general ethos of the message boards.

Say sorry to Heather and  when she visits the Taverna I'll treat her a bottle of wine and charge it to your account (Currently in credit with 3 Cheese pies and a sardine!)

Nathan

PS Heather, I'll see if i can update your post count.

Fair swap that a bottle of wine for a sardine!

Incidently, I only delete posts that are TOTALLY of thread.

Trying to follow threads that are straying can be difficult hence the reason some posts are deleted

The topic of "holiday countdown" was detracting from the origional question

If any offence was taken then please accept my sincerest apollogies, I promise to be a good boy in future and move posts to a new thread

Nathan

I too had several posts deleted last night whilst responding to Heathers countdown to holiday post. I would be grateful if you could update my post count too.

To all those concerned,

Is it really that important how many posts you have made?

Oh for God's sake, how petty is this all ?  Is this a forum about Corfu or a squabbling area ?  For what it counts from me, delete this entire sorry affair and get back to what this site is about i.e. Corfu - not squabbling.  LOL

I have yet to enter a forum where threads do not stray. It is human nature, many people probably resent being led by the nose.

Sorry if this enters any noses, but that's my experiences. The word pedantic springs to mind?

It's nothing to do with threads straying, it's to do with threads being totally off track and the origional questions going unanswered

Come back Phill(hellene) all is forgiven

I see none of you have an open mind on this subject and only see your own points of view!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can see those stars dissapearing before my very eyes LOL

I think this is getting a bit silly.  Posts will, bar the odd accident, only be deleted if they are obscene untruthful unpleasant or something like that, or if a member requests that one of their posts is removed.

Topics do go off thread, people like to chat within a topic but that makes the boards friendly. If they go way off topic we can move the irrelevant posts to a new thread in Bongo's drum if they are just chitchat, or to a new thread relating to whatever the topic has turned to discuss in an appropriate forum so that everyone can join in.

Sometimes we get it wrong. Sometimes we try and get it right and it gets messy. That is what happened last night and started all this, and in a sense therefore is my fault.  I moved some posts, the members involved thought they had been deleted, then they found them, everything got confused etc etc.   We had a good laugh about it, it was very very funny .

So lets not take all this too seriously please.  I made a mess, Steve made it worse (LOL) and has offered to buy everyone involved a drink. ONLY JOKING - don't want Steve deleting this.

Happy posting everyone!

Julia
