Have just returned from Sidari and found a great new eating place, if you enjoy Greek food. At the Macdonalds cross roads left turn towards the beach and follow the road past the Doctor surgery, and then next to the large supermarket there is a new Taverna called "Shipwreck Taverna" only opened this August and is owned by Yannis and family who used to own the Cheers bar, many years ago. Really good food and great view. Give it a try

Welcome back Sylvia, i know the restaurant you are talking about, we passed it every day, but unfortunately we never went in ,as every time we passed it was always empty. Wish we'd tried it now !

Obviously EVERYONE ELSE did that too Angela!!

A real "catch 22" situation there from a member with a name derived from the book!

Hi Angela,

you are so right it is difficult when you see a restaurant empty because it could be because it is awful, you can never be sure. As they have only just opened they obviously need to build thier reputation. The food was so good - we had baked feta in a red sauce, saganaki, garlic bread, meatballs and chef salad. It was sooooooo good. Very fresh and very well cooked and presented. You must try it next time, I really recommend it. (we had a great time by the way x)

Spooky!!

I opened this thread only to find that I had already posted on it yesterday!!!!

Closer inspection shows that it was started last year, and I can just about remember making my post,  how come the dates have changed?

(An easily confused!) Dean

Hi Dean,

Orchard wanted this brought back to life for some reason so I did just that.  The process now involves altering date of posting which is why it looks as though you posted yesterday although in reality it was last year as you remember.

Sorry to have confused you!

Julia

Sorry, Yes it's my fault!!  Thank you to admin for reactivating it.

The Shipwreck belongs to our very good friend Yannis - and I wanted to see what this thread had to say...........and to show him a print of it.

Here's wishing him a good season this year!!

It's next door to a small mini-market - don't know the name of it I'm afraid.

At the 'McDonalds' crossroads, you take the beach road, and he is down there on the right.
