Hi everyone, so glad I stumbled across this website. Will help me so much with my preparation for a girly holiday to Roda in September!
I'm afraid I'm gonna bother you all with a few questions. Firstly, for a week in Roda, how much money would you recommend I take? Obviously I will only be paying for my own meals, trips etc and none of my friends can seem to agree on how much would be a reasonable amount. My general plan would be to buy food for our apartment to make breakfast and lunch, but I expect most nights, if not every night we will be eating out. We might go on a few trips as well, maybe to the big water park, or a boat trip. We won't be getting a hire car, and our travel from the hotel to the airport is already paid for, plus I doubt we will use many taxis. Of course got to have a little spending money as well
September weather in Roda, what should I be packing in my suitcase? I'm praying that you'll say shorts and strappy tops for days, with a cardigan for the evenings.
Has anyone been to the Elizabeth Studios and Apartments, and if so what were they like?
Any general tips and information that as a newbie to Greece I should know about?
Can't explain how excited I am. Really looking forward to sun, sea, sand and relaxation.

I have never stayed in Roda but stay in Sidari which is around 20 minutes away although Visited Roda a few times.
The resort itself is compact with plenty of shops, bars and restraunts to keep you all happy. The beach stretches along to acharavi and you can walk through to acharavi from Roda.
Boat/coach trips are readly available and you are best advised to visit the local agents in roda who will offer trips at a much more cheaper rate than if you were to book direct with your Tour Op.
The weather in September is lovely, warm sunny days - some overcast days/rain but last year this tended to happen in the early hours of the morning. Strappy tops and shorts are fine during the day but it does get cooler at night so a light jacket/cardi should be kept handy (although after a few mythos you don't feel it as much lol)
The sea is also lovely and warm for swimming at this time of year too.
I'm sure some of the Roda Visitors on the site though will be able to offer tips on where to visit, eat drink etc and will be able to tell you more about where you are staying.
Hope you have a wonderful time in Roda.

Hello Becky,
We went to Corfu in May and stayed in Kassiopi but we had friends in Roda and visited on several occasions. We have now booked for October to go to Roda. We loved the resort and found meals cheaper here than in some other areas of the island. Most tavernas serve main meals at between 7 and 10 euros, a carafe of house wine is about 6 euros, bottle of Mythos 2.5 euros. A very nice place to eat is the Roda Park, great greek night on a Wednesday when the owner Costas and his staff will dance for you. Friendly cocktail bar is the Mistral. Cocktails cost about 4-5 euros each (the more you have the stronger they get). Trips are readily available from local travel agents at reasonable prices. Much better than the tour operators prices. I don't know anything about the apartments you will be staying in, but I am sure you will get information from someone else on the forum about them. Enjoy your holiday.

Hi Becky, the Elizabeth is a great place to stay with a good size pool, plenty of sunbeds plus a pool par which serves snacks and drinks, and only a short walk to the main sandy beach in Roda itself. You are about a 5-10 min stroll from the center where you will find plenty of good restaurants, bars, shops etc. etc. all a great prices. Shop around for trips etc., as your tour operator usually charges more. Depending when you are arriving in September will dictate what the weather will be like as mushypea suggests. You could try the forum at www.officialroda.com as they will give you more detailed info.
Have fun and enjoy your holiday.

Roda is`nt a bustling resort, but is small enough for the people to be very friendly. The resort has a main street down to the beach,a road along the front,a lovely street through the old village and the road up to Acharavi along the beach. You will like the resort , it is geared up for both couples and families, especially as all the locals seem to love the kids in my experience!!.Have stopped at the Elizabeth with family and friends,Accommodation is usual standard, but they have a new block open for this year, so might be better. The family who run them are very friendly and are very approachable if you want a chat.Chances are that once you have been to Roda/Elizabeth, you`ll want to go back.

Hi Becky, I've stayed at the Elizabeth a few times before. I'm back there on 11th August ( only a week away now). Great place to stay. Basic accomodation ( typicaly Greek). The family who own and run the apartments are fantastic. They make you feel like one of the family. I'm sure you'll love it there. Like someone said in a previous post check out WWW.officialroda.com you'll get loads of info about Roda itself.
Have a great time. Luv Jan XXX
