Hi all I am thinking of returning to AG after a couple of years, put off by long delay at airport on way home last time. Cant find any companies running packages so will have to arrange things myself.
I have never done this before and am looking for tips. Getting to AG and finding accommodation when I get there is my main worry.

We arrange accomodation every year through Stefanos at Sinarades Travel (top of the high street in AG). Just email him through http://www.sinaradestravel.com/aggordis.htm and he'll let you know where he can get you rooms. August will obviously be busy for leaving it last minute.

Many people are finding that arranging their own accomodation this way is more expensive this year, so it may be worth carrying on the hunt for a cheaper package. It's a price worth paying for us as we love the place we stay and like knowing our money goes straight to them, but that isn't a choice everyone can afford.

Have a great time - we're off next week!

Hi there, check this site out for your digs then check all airlines that fly from your airport and see if its viable.

Agios Gordios

Thomas Cook and Sunisle are the 2 UK companies going to the resort as a package.

We stayed at Irene Apartments last year - www.irene-apartments.gr. Great value - we just want somewhere cheap to sleep, shower and eat breakfast on the balcony. The Irene is ideally placed - right by Gee Bee's supermarket and bus-stop. They have a gorgeous pool, with bar and snacks and twice weekly BBQ run by the whole family. Check it out. There are more expensive apartments/studios with all mod cons and lovely showers but I'd rather spend the money I save on tavernas and that gorgeous sunset view!

Heres the link for Sebastians, they have 4 rooms on the 1st floor which I think would be just fine for you.

Sebastians

Just round the corner is Katerinas with the best pool in the village, they have 2 studios. Both will sort a taxi out for you, just ask.

Katerinas

Eli has already said she stayed there last September.

We have not stayed there but did use their Pool and Pool Bar. It is a lovely pool and pool bar and always kept lovely and clean. Gregg and Yanis will look after you very well here.

Beginning of September is nice weather can be great we were there beginning September last year and it was really warm everyday except the day before we came home we had a storm early morning but was gone by about 11am and out came the sunshine.

Hi Stu,

Here is another possible location that you may well interesred in. It is close to the village center and very close to one of the best tavernas in the resort. They have a large pool and the view from there across the bay is second to none.

Link

They will also be able to arrange a taxi transfer from the airport for you as will Irene at a lower cost than you would get at the airport.

Yammas, Colin.
