We will be visiting Loggos at the end of May and would welcome any information or opinion on the various tavernas.

Many thanks

Hi Keith

The biggest and most popular taverna in Loggos is O Nassos, right in the middle of the square on the harbourfront.  Their menu is really extensive and the quality's good too.  The star attraction there is fresh lobster, which they keep alive in a box tied to a small boat just in front of the restaurant.  It's not unusual to see one of the waiters leaping onto the boat, then leaping off again and running through the restaurant with a live lobster in his hand

Next door to Nassos is O Gios, which serves more traditional dishes, but still very good.  My personal favourite meal here is to just choose a whole range of starters from their menu to share and pick at.

At the end of the harbourfront is Vassilis, which is probably the most famous restaurant in loggos, because it's the one where you have to shift your chairs in when the bus goes past   They also do more traditional dishes, but it does get very full and whenever we've been there we've found the service a bit lacklustre and slow, although we may have just caught them on a bad night!

The newest restaurant in Loggos (at least it was last year) is the Olive Tree, in the alley just behind the main square.  This is the place to go if you fancy something a bit different from the usual Greek fare.  I highly recommend their Bloody Mary soup - you get a bowl of tomato soup and a bottle of vodka, to help yourself from

There's also a taverna on Levrechio beach, just outside the village.  Being a bit out of the way, this was always very quiet when we were there last year, but the food's good and it's a great place to go if you want a romantic meal under the stars, listening to the waves washing on the shore.

Finally, if you don't feel like a big meal, most of the bars in Loggos do snacks - salads, burgers, omelettes, etc and are great places for a light lunch, watching the boats coming and going.

Hi Rozavalon

Travelling with Planos so are going to be on their chartered boat. Just hope that the weather is kind as neither of us fancy a 2 hour 'choppy' crossing - still that's all part of the adventure isn't it? Though it all pretty much plain sailing once through the horrors of Corfu airport.

It's been about 15 years since our last visit to Paxos and are hoping that it has not been too ravaged during our absence. Have wonderful memories of the best bread we have ever eaten, fresh from the bakery and lugged up the track to the top of the hill!

Hi Keith

The bakery in Loggos has moved a couple of times in the last 15 years, but the bread is still as delicious as ever and you still find people waiting for it to open in the morning, so that they can have fresh bread for breakfast

Whereabouts are you staying?

Elaine

Hi Elaine

We're staying smack bang in the middle of the harbour, so not far to walk for the delicious bread. Still counting the hours.

Hi Keith

We're staying in Aleka apartment (above the internet cafe) from May 25 for two weeks. So I imagine we're not far from the delicious bread either!
