Well, I see me sitting at the Alipa port ,watching the holidaymakers waiting to board the glass bottom boat or sunbathing, and the little children searching among the rocks, I wonder what they find ? A short walk to the Belvedere, great hosts, and the view, wow. K

It is September, and all’s quiet, the day trippers have gone home, and I am with my Lovely Lady sat at Nikos’ bar on the main beach, watching the sun go down, we are sipping a brandy or maybe one of his cocktails.
My avatar to the left says it all, ok, the little pier has now been moved, but what was the lad in the pier thinking about? I know it was a couple of day before he was about to be sent to the army to do his bit.

Got to agree with the Steves. Acapulco for me. Either up at the bar area having a wee Mythos at lunchtime, looking across the bay and out to sea. Fantastic colours of the flowers around the bar and grounds with the azure sea and blue blue sky. Sigh.
The heat and sounds and smells.
Or...down at the rocks and ladder to the sea where you can see across to Liapades. A swim across and a wee Mythos at the bars on the beach goes down a treat. The view from there back to the Acapulco is good. And when its Mythos o'clock, you can put the pounds back on that you lost with the swim.
Mind you, the view from the Belvedere is a killer too. And there's a bar for a wee Mythos. Although, they tended to be big Mythos when Nikos was in party mood.
On reflection, just about anywhere in Paleo will do for me. Roll on July!!

The approach to Paleo after crossing Corfu's lush green countryside never fails to give me a buzz, when the blueiness of the sea comes into view.
Slumped on a chair with a Mythos in Niko's on a May/October afternoon listening to the waves.
Also the drive up to Lakones and then onto Makrades to get the wine and honey from one of the roadside stalls, avoiding the man who keeps jumping out at you holding his map.

Being stopped by the old man selling nuts as you went up to Bella Vista, it was hard to get through unless you brought some!
Also following the dustcart up to B.V.,after there had been a landslide, the pong was wonderful and it took an hour!

It could be, but you have it down as 2009, but the pier was taken away at the end of 2008 I think, although I’m not sure when I took my photo, but it certainly is our favourite place to sit and daydream.
And what’s this, somebody else in the village from Scotland, what with you, Alison (aka DCV) and Bob & Janice, and also the people from the art studio whose name I can never remember, I'm begining to think that Karen and I the only English in Lacones, we are feeling outnumbered!!
I notice the view from your bedroom is almost the same as the one from our balcony, see my gallery also.
