Does anyone know if the store has opened yet please? The website has opening hours listed but I've never heard anyone say that they have been there yet. Thanks

The last time we were over in Ioannina the receptionist in the hotel told us (and he had it logged in his desk diary) that Ikea was opening on November 24th 2010.

Oh J&L - not on November 24th then!? I kind of assumed as a major hotel in Ioannina had it logged in their appointments diary for that date - that this was the definite date?? What is your information source?

I think this will be 'must' day out for most ex-pats on Corfu. From those who have been already, could you give a breakdown of timings, directions, costs etc of going there...It might make the day more enjoyable and prevent getting lost!!! Thanks

The ferry was €74 for car and two adults return. It is very easy to get to - follow the E90 to Ioannina then turn right on the E951. The store is on the right and it has the usual signage.. They are building a flyover so there's a lot of road works, BUT, IKEA is very well signposted. The drive from the ferry shouldn't take much more than 1 hour.
Here's the map from IKEA's website.
We stayed overnight in Ioannina, but it's not necessary (and adds considerably to the cost) given the driving time involved. We saw an IKEA bus at the store, so, they do a shuttle from somewhere in Ioannina as well.
