hi there,
Just booked up for theofilis apts (through direct holidays) for second fortnight in Aug.  The tour operator cannot confirm if they have air conditioning.  Can any body who may have stayed there confirm.
Also there is not much info on them on these boards so any other info would be very much appreciated.
I understand that they are between Nelly apts and Marika but from the picture it dosent look as if you get a sea view if you are on the ground floor.  I have only ever been to Kass in Sept but just couldnt wait any longer this year so is it much warmer when I'm going.

No air con available - well open the doors front and back and get a natural sea breeze air con

All the apartments in Theofolis 1 have a sea view as they have balconies front and rear - ground floor is level with the pool though

Me I would phone Direct and request a 'high floor' (there are only 2 and the stairs are split into 2 flights) so you get best advantage of the breeze in August - but the apts each have a 'fan' to use free (probably still in one of the cupboards :))

Theo and family are lovely people and if you have any issues don't be afraid to ask - you won't see a rep as there are none based in Kas

Look in My Gallery for a few pics of Theofolis and the views - all have Theofolis in the image names

Many thanks for your reply. Can I ask how recently you stayed there and is there a possibility that air con now installed.Or am I just clutching at straws!
Cant leave the doors open at night as mosquitos would eat me alive. The view on your photos are wonderful were these taken from upper level? Will we have a similiar view if on ground floor? Thats why I booked these over the andreas apts ,for the view and am now panicking about seeing only the small pool.

Theo keeps his apartments beautifully. Theofilis 1 are in a superb position. As C4owner says, Theo and his family are lovely people. If you have any requests contact him directly and he'll do his best accomodate them.

I guess a couple more beers are in order to help sleeping in such warm conditions with no air-con...
We will be at Theofilis last 2 weeks in Aug... can't wait

End of August shouldn't be to bad - the mossies? well you can have the shutters closed with the net over them but the glass doors open so you will get some air moving. Just make sure you have an electronic/electric mossie repelling machine plugged in

The views from the ground floor aren't that different if your standing up - it's the wall at the end of the pool which will cut off a bit of the view (the beach)

And Theo said in May he wouldn't be fitting Air Con and won't be going with a tour operator next year, but things can change

Hi annie-g we stayed at the Theofilos appats last year they are FAB as already stated.... I am however mystified how you managed to book them with Direct Holidays -- are they now in the brochure ?? There are two sets of apartments Theofilos I and II the Theofilos I is on the beach and II is up the hill. Please let me know about the brochure though . Hi Sara,

I checked Thomas cook web site and they were listed but knew Direct holidays did them (not in brochure apparently) but phoned them anyway and they did the week for approx £15 cheaper than thomas cook. £15.00 buys us our first couple of drinks so booked them right away. Have since been told that thomas cook own Direct holidays anyway?
we have vasked for a first floor apt. ,How did you get on without air-con as that is my only worry.
Also was the pool reasonable and are the apts nice?

Theo is not in any brochure's for 2009 as he is going independantly. When I was talking to him last week he told me he had not recieved any payment from the holiday company this year. He isn't the only one. Maria at the Eva hasn't been payed either.

hi,we stayed at theos end of august/start of september and we had air con.we were in pagona house, formerly theo 2,which is 30 yards up a little [!!] hill from theo 1 on the beach.i believe only certain apartments currently have air con.we were in apartment 8,i think.the apartments are all being privately booked from now on ,thanks to the appalling treatment of apartment owners by our friendly british travel companies.these really are fantastic, friendly, clean and perfectly situated apartments. if anyone has any queries about aircon or anything else,e-mail vivi, theos daughter.you will get a prompt reply in better english than i am capable of!! being completely unaware of how to insert links,i suggest you type theofilos apartments into google.

Thats terrible; these TO's treat the locals poorly and they are so happy still that we tourists hardly ever know of the problems they have. Thats why when I stay I never book trips with the greedy TO but use local travel shops. I always also make sure I have some meals and evening drinks at my appartments so they at least make some money from my stay. Its a brave move going independant so I wish them success next season.

yeah, speaking with theo and vivi it makes you almost ashamed to be british ,the way they are treated.suppose the TO's would argue its all about market forces, driving prices down for us. what they dont explain is how the humble brit must pay the full holiday balance months in advance,on a wing and a prayer if you are forced to cancel and beg for a refund, yet some apartment owners have not been paid by them for LAST season. we also try to book independent but with the collapse of the budget airlines showing no sign of subsiding,i reckon this could be increasingly difficult. where theres a will theres a way tho !!!!!!!
