Here's a little youtube film of my friend Kostas fishing off of Kassiopi for those that like a bit of fishing during their holiday, it shows what can be caught off of Kassiopi, this was filmed by Kostas son-in-law Markos.

I'd love to tell you what happened to that rod Kostas is using, but Kay his wife might not let me back into the bar if I did

I wasn't out there with them this time, but do Know Kostas uses whole live Squid,Garfish or cuttlefish and trolls just off the bottom, also this video was shot in October.

Plus the Amberjack in my Avatar was caught in July using the same method

Just watched your fishing video you posted thought it was great. Could you please tell me who the artist was singing in the background, because when I go fishing I want to play it as it seems the fish really liked it and you never know I might catch one.

Rich. I do most of my sea fishing here out of Dover in the UK...so not really sure what fish Kostas is holding up, but will try and find out. Perhaps somebody on here may know.

The fish in the first video is a amberjack...

Here's another video taken this week of Kostas fishing off Kassiopi..this is a grouper.

I'll be out there with him in August, not fishing because I don't have a licence

Fabulous fish and HUG! What sort of licence do you need though, Bruce?
How much does Kostas charge for you to go out with him? Looks like a great trip!

Hi CC,

I know the title says "Fishing Trips in Kassiopi" on the YouTube video but it's not "trips" in the way we know it, this is just the way that Markos, Kostas son-in-law who filmed Kostas has translated it into English.

Kostas never charges anybody because it would be against the law, he just invites friends out for a few hours, I've known Kostas for over twenty years now and so get invited out all the time.

As for the Fishing licence these are issued by local port authorities, but to get one you need to be a EU citizen, you will need two photographs, a Greek tax number (AFM) and a photocopy of your passport plus the fee.

The licence is just for fishing from a boat or any other floating object in the sea, there's no licence required to fish from the shore.

Sorry if this post is a bit long winded but the Greek authorities are a bit stricter about Licences now, up to a few years ago they never ask for the tax number.

Bruce
