I'm not sure if you'd be able to do this. Most boat hire companies won't let you go round the headland from Kassiopi to Sidari because the sea gets very rough and there are strong currents.

Someone else may have an other opinion but i'd be very suprised if you were allowed to hire one to make this trip.

However don't let this put you off going to Agni! The bus ride has stunning views or you could always hire a car.

Happy Holidays!

In short, I am afraid the answer is no. Boat Hire Companys will only allow their boats out to a certain distance, and as stated above, it can be hazardous in the afternoons around the NE Coast.

I think distance alone would not allow a trip around to Agni Bay.

Yeiamas, Chris.

Hi ScouseMick,

The only way that you could do it is to take the Sidari/Kassiopi bus at 9.30 arriving at Kassiopi at 10.15. Then dash down to the harbour and hire a Philipos boat. By the time that you have hired the boat and been shown the ropes you could probably leave Kassiopi about 11.00. and arrive at Agni about 12.30. Have lunch and leave Agni about 14.45 to arrive back in Kassiopi for 16.15 just in time to catch the last bus back to Sidari at 16.45.

It would be a bit of dash to make that timetable but the only alternative is to make a trip with Christos who leaves Kassiopi at 10.30 every day(weather permitting). It is a good day out, he does a N.E. coast cruise stopping at Agni for lunch. He stops usually at Kalami for coffee or Mythos and then at some deserted cove for swimming, free wine and ouzu on the way back all for about 15Euros. He only takes 13 people but you have to book the day before and as you are in Sidari it would be difficult to make a booking.

Hope you sort something out  la. Have a great holiday.

Alecko.

Yes correct Alecko,
I must ask you sailor, we may have met, have you sailed around the N.W of Corfu much as i do recognise your face :¬)
I find that the waters as said previously scouse do get rough in parts especially around the n.w. headland. I would advise though that the distance is a long way.
Have you used a motor boat much before?
Mico :¬)

I work for the Hellenic SA (sailing association) as an instructor and i sail for the U19 greek team and one thing that helped me was a lesson from a local instructor in Motor boating, perhaps your local sailing club could help. I now obviously have qualifications in it but that is what you could work to. I dont know :¬?

Hi Mico,

I am afraid not, you must have mistaken me for someone else. I have visited the NW of Corfu, but only on excursions, and not by boat.

Perhaps we will meet up one day, who knows.

Yeiamas, Chris.

My holiday this year is subject to my medical condition. I may not be able to fly for a while, plus the condition I have will be affected by the heat.

Fingers crossed, I am still waiting to find out.

Yeiamas, Chris.

I hope all will be well, Chris!

Scouse Mick - why don't you do a trip down to Corfu town, either by bus or by boat and try and stop off at Agni on the way!  It would be a full day, of course, but well worth it.  Also, car hire is reasonable and that's probably your best bet.  Have a great time!
