GReat choice nice to see someone going to the best part of the island   (better beaches ) but hey i mebias .... cant tell you about the appartments youre going too but the resort is very laid back and alot quiter than than sidari but very similar to gordis but not as hilly ...graet tavernas  try" the Balcony" great food and a great atmosphere all the beaches on the west coast are beautiful and the waters a lot shallower in this region too just switch off and enjoy

lifes to short

good beaches with 30 mins drive try Santa Barbara still not too crowded and try vitalades still undiscovered my favourite actually. try baratos for lunch great food a t greek prices..

Cheers

Brian

Hi,

Just back from Corfu, and went to check out St George South to see how it had changed as I stayed there about 10 years ago when I was 18! It used to be only developed on one side of the road but has now spread to both and seems livelier. The beach is BEAUTIFUL, sea lovely and shallow. The Balcony restaurant was my fave restaurant when I was there all that time ago and I see that it is still there so it must be doing something right.

Im really considering it for next years holiday! With all these reviews it must be good! I think we pass it on the way to Aspro Kavos (when dropping people off there and it looks lovely).

Have just returned from St Georges (early hours of this morning) we stayed in the Ananias appts and were made very welcome by the family owners. This is our fifth year at the Ananias and they are really struggling  after the collapse of a previous tour operator last year, as are several of the other appts in St Georges, but they all still put you first and ensure you all get an enjoyable holiday. Hopefully Airtours will be taking on some of these appts for the 2006 season. The resort however was very quiet as to previous years, with bars like the Stimatis Bar which is normally bustling. A couple of new bars have popped up, like the Orange Bar and the Al Pacino which is right next door to the Ooh Lala. They have also put in a pavement along the whole of the street with quaint little lamposts, so the street should be lit up for future visitors. We have not actually seen the lights on yet , and its always tomorrow when you ask (the Greek way)

Hi Sunslickie,I too love St George South and stayed at the corfu plaza last year.Accommodation was clean and a good size. The pool there was very family orientated with childrens activities etc,but even though all my children are now grown up, it didnt bother me.You can always use the sister pool at the palm beach, but the beach is so gorgeous, spent all my time there! Can't really add any more to what the others have said, except to say that i have been going back for the last six years, and every time i go,i find it getting harder and harder when the time comes to leave!Relaxing resort, wonderful people and sunsets to die for!Enjoy!

Sue

 hello neil and di

yes you are right with your location and the colour ,but as i was saying in our previous post that it was amazingly quiet and not a lot of custom about but hopfully it will start picking up in the next couple of weeks. it could be down to children not being allowed out of school in term time because we saw hardly any families at all.well keep our fingers crossed for all the bar and hotel owners that they pick up
