I tend to find that the long range weather forecasts aren't very accurate.

Before I go off on holiday I track the weather, but when I get there it's usually much better than the forecast predicted.

Don't worry too much, even if you do get some cloud/rain it won't last long and it'll still be lovely and warm.

If you notice the temperature is still high even though it says there will be showers.  Lets hope that they are wrong like they usually are! (weather forecasters)

The webcam photos have been looking nice so like you have said fingers crossed that it will stay that way!

I hope the weather is ok for 10 June.

I have found that very few of the weather websites are totally accurate, and with Corfu some parts of the island can be sunny and on other parts it can be pouring out of the heavens!

I find this weather site very good as you can choose your resort (or the nearest to your resort) for a more accurate report.  Check it out:

I also follow the five day weather forecast on Ceefax on the telly.

Most of the weather forcasts are based on the weather at Corfu airport.

If you are any distance from there it is likely to be different.

I always pack lightweight waterproofs as I never know what the weather will be doing when I return to the UK.

With  luck any rain will be short lived

My Wife and I arrive in Corfu on Friday 27th May, I to have been looking at the weather forecasts but prefer to stick with the BBC's forecast which shows up to Sunday as being 29/30 Degrees and Sunny!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?world=0069

Fingers crossed!

...I think the best one to look at is tavern Agni as you only have to look on the hour to what the weather is like and the temperature at the time...chris

Oh sugarcubes!!!
I've just checked the weather link for Roda and it looks as though its going to rain for at least the first three days we are there - hubby will be pleased !! him being a sunworshipper - and we've not been away for a few years and were really looking forward to some 'constant' sunshine. Fingers crossed 'they've' got it wrong

The BBC forecast looks by far the best (so it must be right!!)

Accu weather cant seem to make its mind up changes daily.

We arrive in 9 days so hoping for the best, but as you say looking through a glass of Mythos makes everything look better.

We had rain a few days when we were there 2-16th May - you are welcome to use my philosophy of wet on the outside may as well be wet on the inside!!!  You may well find as we did that the bars and tavernas are equiped with polythene sides they can roll down to keep the worst of the weather out and put either the sports on tv or if they have the facility they put a film on.  One day it didn't stop raining all day and night but the rest of the time it was just a short sharp shower and half an hour later it cleared up.  Anyroadsup it's got to be better than the constant rain we have had today here in Warrington - I think my personal raincloud is parked outside the door waiting for me to go out on my lunchbreak.

Have a great holiday anyway - you lucky things!!!

Hi Cath45
You are so right - at least if it does rain (a little!!! fingers crossed ) in Corfu you can pretty much guarantee there won't be a gale force Arctic wind blowing , so we shall just have to count our blessings - all 14 days of them!!!!!!!!!!!.
KathleenB
P.S.It hasn't stopped raining here in Whitehaven either - all day

Natalie:  That weather website you referred us to is fabulous!  Wow!  How did you ever find it?  The other correspondents are correct:  The weather is different all over Corfu.  One cannot say that because the weather is such-and-such at the airport, it is the same all over Corfu.  Not so!  I have it on very good authority.

Again, thank you so much for that terrific site!

Am a bit worried about this weather malarky - if the weathers different all over corfu, is it worse in one place more than others? I am going to Kassiopi on the 6th June for 2 weeks for the first time! My fella has been to sidari a few times and is in love with the place. If some Sun can be arranged for the time we arrive i would be very grateful xxx

I am checking the Beebs weather site every day and tbh, it changes on a day to day basis, even though it's a five day forecast.

Up until Wednesday atm it's pushing 30c.

Each time I've been to Corfu, it's usually from the first week in June and the weather is usually fantastic, excepting the first day last time when there was a huge water spout coming in from the West, heading right towards Agios Georgios. This we could see from Bella Vista at Lakones. It was a beautiful, but frightening site, as it was huge.

Next day was gorgeous

We're flying out tomorrow so have been watching the forecasts with trepidation! Just checked them for one last time and both the beeb and weather.com have completely changed from earlier in the week....thankfully!

It's going to be sun sun sun all the way!

Hi Sazmacklin

It's fair to say that the weather can very, depending where you are on the island, largely due to the topography and the proximity to the Albanian mountains.

If the wind is from the north, the weather will usualy be good, with clear skies etc. However, if from the south, the moist warm air(usually all the way from the Sahara, but having travelled over a long reach of sea) rises as it meets the mountains of Corfu and Albania, cools and creates clouds and rain. Usually a prolonged blow from the south will result in a fairly spectacular thunder storm, which clears the air.

If you notice the wind blowing from the south over a period of time, you will notice that the visibility out to sea gradually deteriorates over a few days, with clouds building up over the mountains - a sure sign rain is on its way.

I think it's also fair to say that Corfu's climate has changed in the last 20 years or so - from being "Mediterranean" (hot and dry) to "sub-tropical" (hot and humid, with more rain)

The good thing about Corfu though (if you have a car) is that if it's raining where you are, the sun will be shinning on the oter side of the island (mountain).

Martyn
