I have had a really bad experience with On The Beach.com, some of you may have read a post I made recently about not knowing what to do about an apartments booking I'd made with OTBeach, as I had previously been to the apartments, I booked with them again, and as mentioned above, I know the owner.
I E-Mailed the owner all excited saying how we would be returning back in September. I was mosted shocked after finding out from the owner of the apartments that we were not on the list to stay at all in September!
After ringing and E-Mialing repeatedly saying to OTBeach,...'look, are we definately booked in with these apartments? and they were saying, 'Oh yes you definately are. They said that the owner is just saying your not on the list because you won't appear on their list until two weeks prior to staying. Then eventually getting through to one more person at the OTBeach site on Thursday,... OTBeach eventually admitted that I was staying in Kavos! I said.. no sorry I've booked for Paleokastritsa.. NOT Kavos.
As most of you will know, these places are completely different holidays, scenery, night life, etc:...But when I booked it was with Paleokastrits/(apartments), they still have this same apartments advertised and openly admitted to me that people of the general public will stil be thinking that they will be staying in Paleo, when they arrive it will be a shock for them to find out that they will be staying in Kavos instead!!
I asked could I stay somewhere to my liking they said basically NO! If I wanted to upgrade then I would have to pay more money. Then I explained to them as this was not my error, and all they said was, we apologise for the mistake! and said we could have a full refund!
So now I have asked for our money back, they say it's going to take 5-7 days before it shows on our booking only then can we move it back into our bank.
I think it's poor service too, considering they have let us down!!
We have now managed to luckily book with another tour operator and have had confirmation.
So those who have booked with On The Beach.com, double check on and double check again. If I hadn't have known the owner of our apartments then we would be staying in Kavos in September...

Your story is just awful, thank goodness you can get your money back. I booked through this company for some family members two years ago, and found their service at that time excellent. However, after hearing this I won't use them again.

I had a bad experience with them too...I booked a holiday through them for my mother in law and her daughter (my sister in law) and her children. As my sister in law had recently been married I inadvertently booked the flight and hotel in her maiden name...and as soon as I got the confirmation e-mail, I realised and told them, but they charged me £60 for a name change, which as it was my mistake I didnt want to pass on to my 78 year old mum in law who was paying for it all...and I vowed then never ever again!
Sorry to hear your problems Lindybell, but we do learn from our mistakes and I do tell everyone not to even think about booking with them. Good luck with having a good holiday...hopefully XXX

Shocking for those poor people who dont follow up like you.
Corfu needs all the tourism it can get, but if it was my booking, I wouldn't be happy about it.

Yes, thank you to all that have taken the time to read this shocking story... and thank you Tully for your well wishes, I'm sure we will have a good holiday now, but I'm really glad I followed my gutt instink to check and double check again, and thanks to the owner of the apartments too, God Bless them..

The strange thing is when doing a search for holidays on that company's web-site Kavos does not appear as a town destination for Corfu???
So how does anyone book there if they want to? Maybe they fill it with switching people all the time?

Denis, you could have a very valid point there...
I'm sure something like that could have happened to me, however if anyone has the interest or the time, maybe they would be intrigued to see it for yourselfs??,,.
It's the Marelina Apartments and says in brackets, 'Paleokastritsa', quite funny really..

It is terrible thing to happen, but touch wood Ive booked quite a few times to the Popi Star. Gouvia, Corfu and touch wood been alright and very cheap. Even hotel asks how I got it so cheap, but always a first time...I hope not.
