Oh dear. So sorry to hear about that.
My husband and daughter had a slightly different experience when they went to Aqualand for the day (me, being the sensible one, stayed behind at the Villa, found a lovely shady tree and a big book and stayed there!!). Their rep actually 'lost' the coach coming back; the driver had moved it after dropping them all off in the morning and it was half an hour before they found it again!!
Talking of coach tours though, good things can come out of disasters ;
"Sometimes an ill wind" as they say...
3 years ago, we decided to do a 'Corfu by Night ' coach tour which we booked through an agency in Kalami. It was the last night of our hols. Holding our tickets in our hot, sweaty little hands, we waited on the main road above Kalami for the tour bus, along with another family who were holding different coloured tickets, presumably because they'd booked through someone else. The bus duly arrived. The driver took one look at us all (by all, I mean 6 of us, 3 of us and 3 of them) and declared that there wasn't enough room on the coach for everyone.He asked to see all our tickets, decided he'd take the other family on board and left us 3 standing there without a word of apology. The English rep with him wouldn't do a thing about it, despite the fact that we all had valid tickets, explaining lamely that there'd obviously been some overbooking.
Disappointed and somewhat upset (!) I went to said travel Agency and demanded a refund, which I got. Now left with nothing to do on our last night, I rang a local Taverna in Agni Bay, just round the corner.We'd often wondered where all these people were going to from the jetty in Kalami every evening, so we though we'd find out. Unfortunately though, when I rang, the taverna owner, Nathan, said he was fully booked. When I explained what had happened , he very kindly squeezed an extra table in for us.We had a lovely evening and the rest, as they say,is history!
