I love Greece...full stop!
We enjoyed holidays in other countries, but once I "found" Greece twenty-odd years ago, I have never wanted to go anywhere else. Friends have asked me why I dont try other (often cheaper) holidays elsewhere, and I have prattled on about the food, the lifestyle, the history etc, but have never been able to put it into the right words.
I started to read Prospero,s Cell by Lawrence Durrell last night and found this on the first page.
"Other countries may offer you discoveries in manners or lore or landscape; Greece offers you something harder- the discovery of yourself"
Just about sums it up I think!
