The snow has been quite thick here in Dover. I have about 6 inches in my garden. Lots of train cancellations as the electrical system down here runs on the third rail system and not overhead lines, consequently the line freezes and the trains cannot pick up the current.
Roads are passable but Channel Tunnel rail links are subject to long delays. Just seen the local news and it should be all gone by the weekend. My stepson has set out for Luton to see the game tonight against Brighton. He must be mad, he has a season ticket at Luton.
This site gives some nice scenes of the snow in Dover.
greetings from snowy consett, its been snowing on and off all day, theres about six inches lying, had to go and buy the little one (3 years old, just)a sledge today,he seen the other children out sledging and wanted to join in.its amazing, all the toys, computers etc, kids have just recieved for christmas yet you still cant beat playing in the snow.
Great... not a lot of snow here in my neck of the wood.....I'm lucky I know someone who works for the council and he make sure I get more than my fair share of salt scattered over the road in my close... that stops the little children playing about in it and throwing snow all over the place making the place look scruffy.....Good news is the snow will all be gone next week and the children are back to school...they have far to many holidays

Richard, who is a bus driver, had an incident yesterday with youths flagging him down as in an emergency, waiting till he opened the doors and then getting pelted with snowballs! Fortunately there was an off duty policeman on board who dealt with the little darlings appropriately!

about -12c and hasn't stopped snowing...they are warning that the temperature might drop even lower tonight...the problem here is the amount of ice before it started to snow...As normal here the gritters were out in full during the night ...
And so was I tonight had a great snowball fight yippee!!!........its looking a lot like Christmas now. we will undoubtedly get this until Feb/Mar as they have said..
..so any of you heading up to Edinburgh or Glasgow for the New Year Parties...the snow always make things a bit warmer make sure you have layers of clothing on...Don't put one heavy jumper on then a heavy coat because you'll really feel the cold.Layer your clothing and put on Wellies or boots...remember that temperatures here in Scotland, drops very quickly so keep warm and enjoy!

Here in LEEDS We had a few inches of snow overnight but it's raining now so it makes it slushy and horribly dirty.
Look forward to sunnier times.
HAPPY NEW YEAR

Here in Cornwall it is Blowing a Gale I live on top of a hill and the wind from the sea is threatening to take off my satelite dish.It is raining very heavily but it is not as cold as it has been the last few days when it froze the fish pond for the first time in 10 years.I hope we dont get snow the whole county closed down last time I dont think we have snow ploughs or gritters just a bloke with a spade and a bucket of sand.
