My husband has the old paper type driving licence, does he need to change it to the new 'photo'type to hire a car or will his old one be accepted do you think? Thanks.

You should always keep both your photo part and the paper part of your licence together,as both parts make up the complete licence. I believe it is actually an offence not too, though I maybe wrong

Hi all
I have the new EU driving licence
But my old paper one has (ungultig) stamped on it which is to say not valid, so as I understand it the new one takes over.
Hope this helps, Ray.

True! We just ask for either of them and I am sure most car rental companies do the same too.
