Hi Fredsid, well you have asked a question there!!!
Corfu is rich in beauty, culture and history along with resorts to suit different tastes and requirements....
So what specifically are you looking for as you are going to be bombarded with answers from all the forumsters with some pretty wonderful places.
We all have our favourites so let us know exactly what your requirements are and I am sure the forumsters will be more than happy to advise on places to stay, things to see and do, eating out etc for various resorts around the island.
Wherever you decide to choose I am absolutely certain you will have a wonderful time especially as you are hiring a car, expect to see some stunning scenery and some absolutely breathtaking views.

Hi fredsid 1968, I would definitely recommend Kassiopi in the North-East. It has a beautiful little fishing harbour with lots of shops, bars and restaurants. Also the beach is only a few minutes walk away. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need any more info.

Hi,
I would also suggest looking at Kalami. They have all that you need there. Google the Adonis and Asonitis apartments (otherwise known as the A & A). Or use the search facility on this forum. Looking glass icon, top right.
You will find a wealth of knowledge.
Enjoy!!!

Agios Gordios springs to mind. We have been going since 2000 with our kids (who were 15 and 11 when first started visiting, now they don't come with us, but return with boy/girlfriends. Three times now with Easyjet and it's works like a dream! It's a very friendly place, you can't go wrong.
Paleokastritsa may be another choice for you. These 2 are both on the west coast with fab views of sunsets.
Have visited Kalami a few times and always thought our 2 would be bored there - ie no banana boats but there are pedalos.
