Our local press has stated today that there may be flights next summer to Corfu from Aberdeen with FlyGlobespan.

Their website is already taking bookings from Edinburgh and Glasgow, but since we only live 15 minutes from Aberdeen Airport, this would be brilliant.

Only thing is, Globespan have a habit of taking bookings and at the last minute cancelling the route altogether. Then you are left scrambling to get an alternative, probably at higher prices.

The only way they keep the flights going is if they are popular.

So all Corfu fans from NE Scotland...we will have to fill these flights!!!

Spread the word..Kassipopi and Corfu, THE place to holiday.

Sadly, I can't see Flyglobespan getting enough business to run flights from three Scottish airports long term -  I can already see one of the Glasgow or Edinburgh routes being dropped at some point after the novelty wears off.

Hi Jordan, Another problem I can see is with FlyGlobespan are flights being on Saturdays, which is great for booking time off work (you don’t need to take the extra day). The problem here though will be accommodation. as most hotels and boarding base their bookings on Mondays and Fridays when most of the flights arrive and depart.

Hopefully depending on demand these flights will get established if FlyGlobespan gives it time. I for one would rather travel 10 miles to Edinburgh Airport than Newcastle or Glasgow anytime.

Yes flying from a local airport is so much easier than a 4 hour drive, expensive parking, overnight stay etc.

Last year we did Aberdeen/Gatwick/Corfu which was good but now that EasyJet are taking over the Gatwick/Corfu leg , who knows.......

Too scared to book meantime in case it all goes pear shaped.

Thought it was too good to be true.

They've pulled the Edinburgh and Glasgow flight, so there's nae chance of an Aberdeen one.

And BA have cancelled the Aberden to Gatwick route.

IS ANYONE FLYING TO CORFU FROM SCOTLAND.

I live 2 minutes from the proposed Trump golf course.

Wonder if Donald would fly us there in his private jet???????
