Hi,
Just returned from my trip to Ipsos, and yet again the weather was beautiful until we arrived but my hubby is close to being barred from the Island as when he arrives, so does the rain!!! 2 good days out of 7, but was a good trip none the less. Interesting to see the place starting to get ready for us tourists. There was an deluge of Slovinians last weekend, a few places have opened already, Dinos, Moby Dick, Stathis, B52 and of course Tiffany's, to name but a few.
News on the Viceroy, they will not be opening in Ipsos this season, Chrissie and Bryn will be creating their wonderful fare from Shakes, in Dassia, opening mid to late May, I have to wait until September now to have some more of their wonderful curry.

Was looking forward to visiting the Viceroy again this year. Whereabouts is Shakes in Dasssia and what kind of place is it?

Jill,
I looked for it on the way thu yesterday morning, it is easily missed coming from Dassia, best advice is to look for it on the way thru from the airport, more visable, and something close by as a landmark.

'Just around the bend' sounds just the place for Chrissie our FQOE!! Hope they still get into Cockrel - am hoping (everything crossed) to get back there this year but it will be end of September or early October unless I get completely brassed off at work and chuck it all in (not checked last nights Euromillions yet - you can tell when I'm fed up I buy lottery tickets) :-) Am having to work this morning cos nobody else in a team of 30 was available!! Mic getting a saturday off is like finding a hens tooth he is off today and I am in work boo hiss not a happy bunny today.

We are right opposite the main beach road, almost opposite the tennis courts of the Chandris Hotel.
We are really looking forward to having Bryn & Chrissy on board this year.
Chrissy is definately round the bend and a bit beyond but she'll still make it to the Cockerel!

I hope Bryn and Chrissy do very well at Shakes....the end of an era in Ipsos eh!!
Sadly, as we try (not easy in some places I know) not to go to British Bars when on Corfu, and prefer a dedicated restaurant or taverna (we rarely eat in pubs that do food, esp' if they do any form of "entertainment"), it looks like we'll be missing out on all that wonderful Indian food from now on!!
Take away still an option?
All the best anyway, Take care

We went last year and you gave us lots of info via these pages.
This year we are going to Kassiopi as we wanted to go back to where we went on honeymoon but will certainly be calling in on Seascape (perhaps for their bbq) and now a trip to Shakes is called for. I think we need 3 weeks not 2 for all the reataurants we want to visit in Kassiopi and Ipsos!
Counting down and getting very excited already!

LOL guys.....It's just a personal thing, each to their own!!
We get such a short time on Corfu each year, that we try our hardest to avoid the sort of thing that we can get every day back home......no offence.....your place has a great reputation!!
Now Bryns Indian cooking is certainly something we can't get every day
PS. Should've said delivery, not take away

Hi Jill,
Yes I did stay at Seascape. Seascape was in full throw preparing for the season, someone who will not be around much will be George, has taken a job that will keep him busy during the day but I have been assured he will be there for BBQ nights. Those of you returning to Seascape early, please do not take the micky out of Bianca, sha has put a little weight on over the winter. I spent most of my week protecting her from amorous dogs as it was her special time, lol. Hoping someone sneaked in then there will be pups when I go back in September, but have a feeling I have to wait till next year for pups, when the planned breeding takes place in October.

Trace - wasn't having a go - we know everyone has their own preferences.
Perhaps we could arrange a personal curbside collection for you or maybe widen the patio so you can do a drive-thru! LOL
Mmmm, might be another business there somewhere!!!

When we open, Bryn & Chrissy's seven foot Raj will be stood right outside so you won't miss that. Bryn's jalopy will also be parked outside and will probably become another landmark!

Bryn and Chrissy have closed the restaurant in Ipsos and are operating the Viceroy from within Shakes so it will be exactly the same menu as they had in Ipsos with maybe a few new dishes added from Bryn's winter travels. There will be very little change apart from the fact there will be Shakes staff serving on tables rather than Viceroy staff.

The Cockerel is still alive and kicking and still run by Phill & Jo. Jo is in the UK just now but is due back hopefully in a couple of weeks.
Don't be sorry for saying you like British owned bars!
