Our tickets arrived today for flights on 21/5 .... that's 18 DAYS yipee. I've a question for any independant flyers - got tickets but no luggage tags, do we make our own ?? Only done package hols before and we're not sure what to do.

And yes make your own. You can get them in WHSmith and places like that. We went to Belfast a few days ago and realisedwe had labelless (is that spelt right? Is it a word?) luggage. Luckily it didn't get lost.

Hi, They can tell where your going and which flight by the stickers they put on at the airport and when I went to Cypress for a few days last year I forgot to put my labels on and got my cases ok, but I still prefer to make my own so that if anything should go astray between airport and Arillas people know where I am. Thanks Viv.m hadn't thought of that. I just have this dread of arriving and only having the clothes I'm wearing !
Still, I could buy a swimming cossy and get John to go down to Willie's wash house (? think that's the name) each morning and have my one outfit washed/ironed/delivered for the evening. Isn't it amazing how the thought of San Steph just chills you out and nothings a problem .... I love the place.

We always put name, address, flight details, where stopping and dates inside the case as well, then if labels come off from the outside of the case you can still be traced, We also do it for return journey as well. Luckily never had luggage go missing but know friends who have.
We also mix clothes in suitcases some of his in mine and mine in his then if they do go missing at least you will have something to wear.

Just a word of warning. I heard a tale where a family had put their labels inside with the address they were staying at and their return address on the reverse when they got home they had been robed and a note left saying, Thanks for letting us know what date and flight you were returnibg on. Don't know if it's true but think its a good warning not to put return address on tell the day you come home.
