Holiday Review:
Second year running - a week in May with all the spring flowers and plenty of sunshine - very few people around which might not suit all but just perfect for us. Stella is a gem.

We had an excellent holiday. Stella couldn't be better placed and we love the fact that you can see the sea from the veranda, sitting room and both bedrooms. We had a wonderful welcome as people had remembered us from the previous year. We hired a boat from Anna and had a magical week calling in to different villages and beaches. The food at the Taverna on the beach is excellent and we enjoyed hearing Greek voices each evening. People should not be concerned at the proximity of the taverna as it usually closes by 10.30pm. Thank you for keeping in touch before, during and after the holiday. We felt well looked after. I am sure we will be back before long.

Beautiful location and very comfortable cottage. We liked Stella because it is right by the sea with amazing views, but a little more private than some of the properties fronting onto the beach. The patio has sun and shade throughout the day. This is a very good centre if you like walking. The coastal footpath goes right round to Kassiopi - not that we managed that far but we did some great walks, all including very leisurely lunches in tavernas beside the sea. Such a good holiday and one we will repeat.

We stayed at Stella from May28th to June 4th and had a lovely time. Every morning we got up and wandered out on to the very private balcony to enjoy the beautiful views and morning sun.(We also had trouble with the bathroom floor but found that if you put the mat by the basin it would remain dry- also we arrived early evening and discovered there was no toilet roll;fortunately I carry an emergency supply and the next day we bought 4 rolls leaving 3 for the next guests.) Next it was up to the shop for the fresh bread for a lazy breakfast. We had hired a car and went all over the island returning in the evening to the Taverna for our regular table out on the front-Nikos even set it up for us specially after it had been raining and the tables had been moved. Kaminaki is a very friendly little place- it is not for those who want a lively nightlife but it is not isolated and the views are wonderful.

We have just returned from a week in Kaminaki (21-28 May 2010), staying at Stella.
We really had nothing to go by when booking and the pictures do not really do Stella justice as it is difficult to photograph it. We were not disappointed!

The veranda is a great place to relax and now that the vines and wisteria have grown, it has made it much more private.

The taverna next door was not open late and we enjoyed hearing the banter and exchanging greetings with the owners and staff who were all typically friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the evenings spent there with good food and good local wine. Then it was just a few steps back to Stella and the rest of the evening on the veranda.

Stella is well equipped and there is plenty of room, particularly if there are two of you. We found the bed a little on the hard side and managed to get the bathroom floor wet every time we had a shower due to the poorly fitting shower curtain...minor problems which did not detract from the overall quality.
The views from the bedrooms and the veranda are simply stunning.

We would certainly recommend Stella for a quiet beach holiday at this time of year. We hired a boat for most of the week and found this a great way to explore the beautiful coast and a novel way to go to the supermarket!
Having said that, the mini market in Kaminaki had all the essentials and fruit and veg became more available as the week unfolded.

Kaminaki itself is picture-postcard pretty and so friendly. The beach is small but not in the least busy at this time of year. The coast path to Krouzeri is easy to walk and affords lovely views. We walked past the hotel to Agni...a bit more difficult, but only took 30 minutes or so.

So, if quiet and relaxing is what you are after, Kaminaki is perfect and Stella is ideally placed to make the most of it!

We asked good friends where the best 'quiet' location on Corfu was. Unanimously they voted for Kaminaki!

We were a little unsure about booking Stella as the nearby taverna may have been noisy. This turned out not to be the case. The balcony of Stella (those sea views still fill my mind with fond memories) did have the view of the taverna to the right, but the charming owner, Spiros, could not have done more to make us feel at home. The taverna did not stay open late at night and by 11pm was all closed up! That could be a bad thing - but not to us. After a meal, we retreated to Stella's Terrace along with a carafe of local wine!

The beach of Kaminaki is quite good - not sand, but fine pebbles. The one next door, Krouzeri is much better for swimming. It takes about 5 minutes to walk along the coastal path. Turn left at the end of the Kaminaki beach and head along the coastal path, Within no time at all, you will reach Krouzeri beach.

Boat hire people were lovely (Anna) and very reasonable for two days hire. Car hire recommend for the days you do not have a boat.

A word of warning:
Don't go to Kaminaki if you are looking for clubbing night life. It's geared towards couples and older people having a quiet drink and a meal for entertainment Spiros at the beach taverna - for us, it was perfect.

Would we recommend Stella? Most certainly it was perfect for a quiet Greek 'beach focused' holiday.

Now pass round the Ouzo!
