We don't mind which part of the island we stay but we are looking for a villa in June 2012 as close to the beach as possible. We have searched the internet but without much luck. Any suggestions?

Maureen - you are right - there are not many beachside properties available on Kefalonia so it is worth booking up early. On the Lixouri peninsula just 20 mins by ferry from Argostoli is a lovely sandy beach in the secluded area of Vrahinari not far from the more commercialised Xi Beach.
