Getting around in Paxos

A trip on the local bus is an experience not to be missed. There is only one bus on Paxos and this provides a regular service, 4 times a day, linking Gaios, Loggos and Lakka. It travels very slowly and can be 'flagged down' at any point during its journey. We recommened printing out the Paxos Bust Timetable and bringing it with you.

There are five local taxi drivers on Paxos, who either speak little or very good English. Our advice is to check the fare before travelling to avoid any confusion although Paxiots are very honest people.

You may wish to hire your own little motor boat to explore the coastal villages of Paxos. Alternatively, arrange to go on one of the daily excursions to Anti Paxos to experience the astonishing turquoise crystal clear waters.

There are many excursions on offer around Paxos, Anti Paxos and trips to the mainland.

Pedal Bikes can be hired in Gaios and there is also Motor Bike/Scooter hire in Loggos. This is a simple way of getting around the island although head gear for protection is strongly recommended at all times.
