Only a few of the Paxos beaches are 'organised' in the sense that they have sunbeds, umbrellas, water sports facilities or tavernas. Most just have some natural shade.
The west coast of the island of Paxos is noted for its sheer, precipitous cliffs and dramatic scenery - there are very few beaches here and they can on the whole, only be reached by taking a boat with skipper.
The sea around Paxos displays the most vivid colours of any island in the Ionian and is idyllically clear and clean.
The most significant beaches along the east coast are:
Around Lakka - Harami and Kanoni (inside the bay); Planos and Achai ( on the northern side of the Planos headland).
Between Lakka and Loggos - Arkoudaki, Orkos, Lakos, Monodendri ( a large beach with several facilities), Glyfada.
Between Loggos and Gaios - Levrecchio ( with a beach taverna), Kipos, Marmari (natural shade from trees growing right down to beach), Kipiadi (popular with yachtsmen), Kaki Langada (has a beach cantina in high season).
South of Gaios - Plakes, Defteri,Ballos, Sulanena, Moggonisi (taverna etc)
The crystal clear waters around Paxos are a sight not to be missed.
