Who is responsible for deleting posts? Yesterday I asked why 2 of sixpacks' posts had been removed from the Kassiopi Forum. The subject was "fishing in Kassiopi". Today the deleted posts are back and mine has been deleted.

There was nothing derogatory in my post. In the past I have had PMs from co-ordinators if anything I had posted was out of order explaining why.

Hi Alecko,

The post of yours you refer to was the one asking why two of sixpackpiemans posts had been deleted. I checked out the matter and found that sixpackpiemans posts had not been deleted, and had returned to view ( reasons for posts disappearing not known ).

Once it was confirmed that the posts you referred to in your post, your actual post was deleted as considered no longer necessary to view as problem had been resolved.

I hope this explains everything to you.

Yammas.

There were serious problems with the server yesterday. I noticed it kept crashing and posts didn't immediatley re-appear. I think this may have been the problem. As Chris says, there is no record of anything being deleted from Sixpack.

Isn't it site policy to send a pm to the person whos post you are deleting?

It's polite and also saves confusion.

As per previous messages on this topic, I am working on a system that will automatically notifiy the posting when one of their posts has been moved (and to where), or deleted.

I try to spend a few moments each evening working on this and hope to have the work compeleted soon.

Thanks to everyone for the explanation. They definitely disappeared and came back again. Seaangler noticed it as well.
