I am due in Corfu in a few weeks and was thinking about visiting one of the littler islands around there, specifically Ericousa and Orthoni. I have found a little bit of info, but I was wondering if anyone had been before and whether anyone knew of how to get there!!?

Thank you!

K

Hi Kate.

Just got back from Corfu 2 days ago. We were staying in Ag. Stephanos [NE].

Booked a trip to Ericoussa from Value Plus [15 Euros each] in Sidari. Trips go out on Sundays and Wednesdays.

Departed from the small jetty in Sidari at 10am. Crossing by boat took just under one hour.

Had a great day on Ericoussa. Not much there really but it's quiet and peaceful. There are a couple of snack bars and a hotel, where drinks, snacks and meals can be obtained. Lovely beach - sandy - with sunbeds and umbrellas for hire [2 beds, 1 brolly cost 4 euros in total]. Sea is crystal clear - sandy bottom, so no jellies required and very very gently sloping...needed to wade out quite a bit before we could swim.

Had to be back at the boat for 3pm and arrived back in Sidari just after 4pm. All in all - a lovely day. We would certainly recommend it.

we have been to ericoussa a few times. Booked through Value Plus travel in Sidari- they have 2 offices - one as you come into the high street past the BP garage and just up on the right and the other right through the one way system next to the bowling alley/amusements on the right hand side. We have always enjoyed the trip as a real 'chill' day. The small taverna (not the hotel)just up from the beach has very good food especially the egg and bacon sandwich when you first arrive for breakfast and can recommend the greek meatballs and spaggethi for lunch. Great day - it is though normally a few degrees hotter than Corfu so use good sun protection. The sea is like bath water - totally great. The sand is soft and long streaches means you can find solitude. It is also worth a trip to the heliport - quite a long walk uphill but the scenery totally wonderful when at the top.

Hi Kate

If you are staying in Agios Stefanos (NW), Arillas or Agios Georgios North, it would be more convenient to take one of the trips from San Stefanos harbour, as organised by Noula at San Stefano Travel http://www.san-stefano.gr/. She will arrange to collect customers at Agios Georgios and Arillas at no charge.

The trips are:

Erikusa on Sundays and Wednesdays dep 9.15 for 17 euros. On Saturdays you can take the combined Mathraki and Erikusa trip for 24 euros.

What about the combined trip? It sounds nice!

Could anyone who made this experience tell me something more about MAthraki? And then, how much time on the boat compared with time on the islands?

Thank you very very much.

Daniele

The trips leave at 9 and arrive back at San Stefanos about 4.30.

The advertising leaaflet states you have 2 hours on each island with of 3 boat journeys.

Hi Kate

We've just got back from Corfu and also went on the boat trip from Sidari to Erikousa - we got it for 14 euros as we booked the day before. As Bevie says it is very quiet and peaceful, we had a lovely walk. It was very hot and that was a few weeks ago, especially on the beach.

Have a good holiday

Alison
