I have to beg to differ on this matter. Yes, take Thomsonfly.com flying out of Bournemouth and other airports to fly cheap flights to places like Majorca, Malaga, Faro, but they also go to Paris, Barcelona not really holiday destinations in the actual sense of the word.
Ryanair, Venice, Brindisi, again not holiday destinations as such, but a cheaper way of getting to Corfu via Italy probably, their other destinations, Frankfurt, Dublin, Glasgow, more business destinations.
And the same goes for Easyjet, not all destinations are in the holiday destination bracket.
For all of the above, and the numbers that do go to Corfu, and the potential of drawing visitors and business people back to Corfu is there, if only these airlines could see it. In my opinion, it is not that they do not want to, but it is the costs that prevent them at the moment from doing so.
We as a large group as we are, need to keep on to these airlines and others to get them to see the need for more flights, cheaper flights to the Corfu and other islands.
