Any of you veterans ever take any food that you can't get in Corfu or simply can't do without.

Personally NO Beach Bum,

The food in the Greek tavernas, restaurants and bars is sooo good that there's no need for me to take anything.

Crikey if you're only away for a fortnight, it's not as though you're going to miss something so much that you can't wait until you get back home to get it (and I'm sure it'll taste even better then because you've missed it so much)

When in Greece I rarely eat much in my apartment anyway (although I do take sauce, salt and pepper sachets when going to some other countries, for picnics etc).

I realise that many folks do take tea bags etc, but seeing as I never drink tea I never have to worry about that!

Thanks

I was actually thinking tea bags etc ; not a Supermarket trolly full of stuff. What would we eat in our villa for a typical Greek breakfast ????

HI Beach BUm,

Breakfast - Our favourite is nice big chunks of fresh fruit, with Greek Yoghurt and then honey drizzled all over it - Superb, especially with a nice big glass of orange juice.

Alternatively there are very nice croissants available from the supermarkets/bakeries.

Or if you want to be very unhealthy, the fresh doughnuts are delicious for a late breakfast with a cup of nice strong coffe!

Must stop now, I am getting very hungry thinking about eating breakfasts like this outside on the balcony next week.

I love a cup of tea first thing on a morning so I do take tea bags, and also we always take some McVities Plain Choc Digestives, as we enjoy them with a cup of tea or a glass of milk for supper!

I always take some of those Kellog Variety Pack cereals as well, Steff gets the munchies and she likes to go and sit in the cool and eat a bowl of cereal!

YOu cant beat Greek Yoghurt though with honey for brekkie!

I make omeletes for breakfast when we're on holiday. They taste amazing when the egss are fresh that morning.

The bread is always freshly baked too. Mmmmmmmmmmmm.

You can get most things there that you can here so I dont worry about not having something. I tend to eat much differently when Im there anyways so there is always new things to try.

Oooh youve just reminded me Pete....  A couple of years ago in Greece we were introduced to the doughnut man that walked up and down the beach every morning. He had a huge box of fresh sugar ring doughnuts. Huge they were!!!

Dont know why but they just taste better when eaten on the beach  Having one a day was a little excessive for me but hey...I was on holiday.
