I'm with Vodafone I'm afraid so can't really help. I find with mine however that as soon as I am in the terminal building and put my phone on I immediately get a message from the Greek firm welcoming me to Greece and giving me emergency numbers etc.The signal can vary if inland but on the whole I manage to get my messages ok. Watch out however when making calls-I was blethering away to a friend one evening and forgot to look at the time I was on-yikes major phone bill.

If I was to take my Virgin phone and my dad was to take his to corfu at the same time, when calling each other in Corfu would we have to pay international rates or would it be local call costs?

thanks in advance, :-)

What I was advised to do was save all my phone number to Phone on my mobile...so when I changed to my Greek sim card all i had to do was put 003 in front of the phone number and let my family know my Greek number to contact me. When you go home do the reverse.

If you use your UK mobiles (sim card) you will be charged at international rate and can be costly.

Go to Acharavi there's a shop that does mobile phone it open last year they are very helpful. Whereas before that, you had to travel into Corfu Town.

Hi Rosanna

Yes you will be charged international rates! In fact a few years ago, may have changed now, I was charged double rate!!! A certain mobile phone co explained it was because the call was basically going back to England and then back out to Corfu! As I said this was some time ago and with the charges for mobiles coming down, this has probably changed.

Sue
