Hi,

My boyfriend and I are looking to book our first trip to Corfu in June 05. We're looking for cheap accommodation preferably a cottage or very quiet apartment in the North-East of the Island and would welcome your views on which resort would be more suitable Kalami or Kassiopi. They both look beautiful in the brochures but as I found out last year tour operators descriptions can sometimes be very deceiving! Agni Bay looks stunning and we're hoping to visit Taverna Agni for a couple of meals - will we need to book in Mid June?

i think tor loves kassiopi!

so do i!

many people who go to corfu become very attached to 'their' resort, and it gets a bit comptitive here sometimes.  luckily very little blood is shed...

Hi Welshwillow,

I know you say you are looking for a very quiet apartment, but you don't say what type of nightlife you're looking for. It really depends on whether you're looking for quieter evenings, with the choice of a handful of tavernas and a couple of bars, or would like to be able to perhaps chose from a wider selection of restaurants and perhaps even go to a nightclub if you chose?

Have a look at the resort guides for both resorts and see if that helps you decide.

Kassiopi http://www.agni.gr/guides/resort_guide/kassiopi.asp

Kalami http://www.agni.gr/guides/resort_guide/kalami.asp

I love both resorts equally, it just depends what mood I'm in.

You do however say that you'd like to visit Taverna Agni a couple of times. You'd find that easier from Kalami, as you can arrange to get the water taxi round in the evening (magical), or walk round for lunch during the day.

Water taxi times are available here http://www.agni.gr/guides/maps/map.pdf and you can even book your table online here http://www.agni.gr/taverna_agni/taverna_agni_table_reservation.asp

If you want peace and quiet then it has to be Kalami - as lovely as kassiopi is its not what I would call quiet

KALAMI!!!

We love it in Kalami but also like going into Kassiopi for a night or two if we feel like a boogie!  Honestly if you are going with your boyfriend and you are like me and Andy you will love the tranquility and romance of Kalami.

Kassiopi is also lovely but I am biased to Kalami, as much as I love visiting Kassiopi by day and night, I would not stay there when I know the beautiful Kalami is only ten mins down the road!

They are both beautiful resorts and you can't go wrong with either of them.

Have a great holiday where ever you decide on.

Last year was our first in Corfu and luckily we were in Kalami. It's wonderful and we're back there for a fortnight in July/August this year. We did go on a trip to Kassiopi and its a lovely place for a day/night out (and they have cash machines which Kalami doesn't) but I'd stay in Kalami every time. It's also only a short walk (or a fairly long swim) to Agni !

As far as I'm concerned, its Kassiopi every time, but as others have said it's not the quiestest of places and it really does depend on what sort of holiday you're looking for. Kassiopi is great and there are some lovely restaurants and great bars and everyone is extremely friendly, as they are everywhere! In my opinion, Kassiopi mostly suits those looking for a more lively holiday, not a quiet holiday..but I'm sure that if you chose Kassiopi you wouldnt be disappointed!

Is it easy to visit Kassiopi for a night out ? How easy is it to get taxis (especially the return), how long does it take and roughly whats the cost.

Ta, R&J

It has to be Kassiopi. Kalami ok but Kassiopi has everything. Quiet or lively the choice is yours.  I am going there in 38 days, cant wait.

Hello again,

I'd like to thank everyone for their replies - they were very helpful and informative. At present we're having problems finding cheap flights from Cardiff or Bristol - Mid June 05. so we won't be booking our accom. until we've sorted the flight. We're on a tight budget this year but I'm still hoping we'll be able to find cheap accom. in Kalami or Kassiopi!?

Happy holidays & thanks again!

Can seam to be a little quiet at first but there are loads of great thigs to do and every one so friendly!!

I would say the best things we have done is hiring a boat its was great fun and spending loads of time at taverna agni well worth a trip!!
