You will love it, as the plane banks around on some flights you get to see the runway as it sticks out into the sea next to Mouse Island. I have a photo of it on Web Photos in the Corfu section.
The landing brings you in close to houses and hotels, but don't worry it's really great. I remember the first time we did it and watched as Corfu seemed to pass below us at high speed. Can't wait to do it again.
I suppose I'm spoilt, flying from Bristol Airport, a nice little airport, where you don't have to walk miles to the check in and boarding, to Corfu, a nice little airport, where bendy buses take you from the plane to the terminal and after a short wait for your bags, it's only a short distance to walk to get to your coach, hire car or a taxi.
I remember coming back from Corfu after 9/11 and the airport was packed to the gills. The airport had told all the tour companies that they wanted everyone to check in early even the people who were flying out late in the day. So everyone turned up at 9.30am even the departures that were due to leave at 6.00pm and later. The queues were horrifying, but we sat back drank Mythos and coffee until our flight was called and went though the check in, and on to the plane.
The last time we were there, it was back to normal and the flights were getting away on time without long queues.
Corfu wants people to come and holiday there so they try to make the travel as painless as possible. You do get the odd problem now and again but I have waited longer at Bristol for my bags than Corfu.
Don't worry about the landing, the pilots do it day after day more than once. It's part of the holiday enjoy it, flying into Belfast City Airport is more worrying
There's one small thing, when you get off the nice cool airconned plane be prepaired for the heat to hit you. It's great.
