Hello Capped frog
I am flying to Corfu on 3rd June. I booked with Excel airlines who are really good, but upon confirmation my flight out is with monarch and my flight back with excel. This is my 10th trip in 5 years to corfu,i much prefer excel but most trips have been with monarch who are not a bad airline compared to others. As long as you are fed and watered as you will be there are other airlines much worse.(i will not mention first choice)hope i have been of some help Triona

I believe the First Choice flights themselves are fine, it's the contract between them and a couple of smaller tour operators (Olympic and Kosmar have been affected) that's causing the problems.
If you're booked with either of the aforementioned tour operators, and are mean't to be flying with First Choice, it may be advisable to check your flight info (just incase).

Sorry to put a dampener on the Monarch love-in, but I and my parents had a little trouble with them a couple of years ago. We travelled independently (ie. booked the flights ourselves, not through a tour operator) and as per the instructions on our tickets, didn't confirm our return flight. So inevitably turned up at the airport to find our flight had been cancelled and we had to go home via Athens and Heathrow. However, Avro who were the booking agents for Monarch at the time (don't know if they still are) were more than helpful and put us up in a hotel at no cost. I guess the moral of the story is always check before you leave and there shouldn't be any problems.
Have a great holiday

Yes, you can still book Monarch flights through Avro. I have used Avro in the past and you can sometimes get some decent prices http://www.avro.co.uk/.
Folks travelling independently should always remember to re-confirm their flight details before heading back to the airport for your return flight. You can usually do this either online, by entering your booking reference, or by phone (the number should come with your ticket "bumph").

Flown many times with Monarch, usually between Manchester and Alicante, never had a problem normally flights reasonably on time, staff pleasant and no major problems, having said that this flight is usually a Scheduled rather than a Charter.
You should be fine with Monarch and Kosmar, have travelled with Kosmar more times than I'd like to admit to, and have always found their brochure descriptions to be accurate, if it says 15 minutes walk to the beach you don't have to be an athlete to achieve it!!
Have a great holiday

Wasn't getting at you Clare, it's just worth reminding folks that travel on flight only deals. The airlines don't always make the requirement or process for re-confirmation clear. 99% of the time there won't be a problem, but you wouldn't want to be caught out if your return flight was re-sheduled or cancelled.
I was "stranded" at Madrid airport a couple of year ago because I'd forgotten to re-confirm one out of three legs of my journey (the middle one unfortunately).

No probs Trace, I'm not easily offended! And thanks for the Avro information by the way. I think we were secretly disappointed that they managed to get us a flight home and we didn't have to stay in Corfu indefinitely... The only point I wanted to make was that the people we spoke to at the airport were quite annoyed with Monarch as they had done the same thing before - cancelling a couple of not fully-booked flights and merging them onto one plane, usually with an overspill. But as you say, phone up and you'll be fine.
Best wishes

monarch are ok, one of their check instaff did stitch me up on one flight though.
I was flying back from Spain with a pal and as we are both tall and over 17 stone, we asked if it would be possible to give us a bit of extra legroom.
He said yes no problem we ended up however in the back row by the loos where the seats are at their narrowest squashing the poor young lady who had to sit between us.
