Is anyone else making use of these flights with Ryanair? We are always moaning there are limited direct flights north of the border and just wonder how popular this route will be with holidaymakers and ex-pats? I have booked on the first flight for a 2 week visit home but wonder if anyone else has booked this route yet.

Unfortunately we had already booked our May flights before the Ryanair route was announced. I did look a few days ago for September, but they weren't showing yet - must check again! - In the end it will boil down to cost, as well as convenience, because Newcastle is probably nearer for us then Prestwick - must check map! Fingers crossed for future flights though! Moyra

Prestwick Airport brings back some memories. Some years ago a close friend married in Glasgow and I booked 4 couples on a flight from Stanstead to Prestwick with American Airways (at) £25 each way. After many jokes about outside toilets and no crew we were the almost the only passengers on a 747 en-route back to US!!!

Unfortunately Prestwick is just too far away for us so it is unlikely that we will be using it.

I'm booked with Ryanair for May from Prestwick to Corfu. The prices were fine but the luggage costs are poor- nevermind it's still cheaper than the other airlines.

I will be booking my familys visit to Corfu with Ryanair. Prestwick isn't their nearest airport, but it's definitely the cheapest. Yes, the baggage prices are ridiculous, but still it's working out cheaper than Newcastle, Glasgow or Edinburgh. Also, the parking costs are cheaper. Long may it continue.

I only live 5 minutes away from Prestwick airport, so will definitely be making the most of the Corfu flights! Totally agree with Maggymae, the baggage prices are a disgrace. I will be sure to pack light! :)
