Latest update on applying for residency in order to buy a car is that the Alien Police no longer deal with your application it's the Police station covering your locality.
I was told by the Alien Police that Kavadades and St George was covered by Karousades Police station but when I went there apparently it's Paleo... so I'm off there today.
Incidentally for those who don't know the things you need are as follows.
1) Tax number (I have a copy of the tax document).
2) 4 passport size colour photos.
3) Bank book with no less than 350Euros plus a photocopy.
4) EHIC card plus a photocopy.
5) Passport plus photocopy
I'll post on here as to how I go on.. should be fun.

Good luck nuffstrong I was Paleo's first applicant and I am still waiting for mine. When I went back in October to see if it was ready I was told that it was at the bottom of the pile as I was the first

Just got mine in October but from Aliens Police near Star Bowl.
Maybe should have waited and got it from Karousades Police which is a three minute walk from my house...typical!!!
Good advice for us though, good luck with your application.
Andy.

Our residence permits expired in October of this year but when a British friend (who is married to a Greek and lives in Corfu all year round) looked into how we renew our residence permits when we were in Corfu in August she was told that it was unnecessary to renew it! At the moment we can only spend about 5 weeks a year in Corfu. Our house is near Agios Matheos.
Any other experiences about renewing reisdence permits these days?

That made us really laugh as this is so typically Greek.
First in last out!!
Wonder whether this also applies to Greek redundancy laws?
Lol.
