He is elected!!! He is the leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP) in the UK, and was elected as an MEP at the end of the 90's. He represents the South East of England

He has never managed to get elected to Westminster though. He left the Conservative Party many years ago when the UK signed the Maastricht Treaty.

If you do a search on UTube you will find many of his speeches to the European Parliament, he is always outspoken and would love nothing more than for us to leave the EU and for it to be broken up.

I have spent all day watching and enjoying the other videos of his speeches to the EU parliament. They call him the Oral Assassin and I can understand why. He has quite a lot to say about Greece and the EU. I have found a new hero! Thank you so much to the original poster of this thread

Nigel was elected MEP for the West of England and I'm proud to say he got my vote

Interesting. Personally I respect a curious mix of politicians (Churchill, Thatcher, Tony Benn, Ken Livingston & Boris) all really because when you voted for them, you got pretty much what it said on the tin.

As far as Nigel Farage is concerned he's certainely in the same vein - no surprises there! The only thing I can't quite work out is whether or not to admire his "forthrightness" or cringe at his amazing direct frontal verbal assaults. I quite agree there is much common sense underlying the points he makes, but I do wonder if going in with all guns blazing, all of the time, may perhaps actually reduce a degree of emphasis of some of those points in the shear pace of the attack. I recall some of Churchills greatest speeches were quietly delivered - but with core points that cut to the bone.

Nevertheless like him or not he's definately one of those rare animals - a politician who says, in extraordinarly clear terms, exactly what he thinks.
