Many of us who follow these excellent message boards have friends in Greece who are going through very worrying times just now. I can tell from the wording of emails I receive just how worried they are and do not know what the future holds.
Can I suggest that we all show support for our friends by emailing them or possibly sending a greetings card, and by keeping in regular contact with them during the winter months.
There are several free facilities on the net for sending an e-card. One I found quickly where you use one of your own photos or choose from a gallery is at www.ecardster.com but there will be others.
It is dead easy and takes about 2 minutes. You choose a photo; write your message; choose decoration etc and then send to 5 people at one go.

Actually Dennis while your thoughts are in the right place your actions may not be. There are a variety of e-card scams constantly taking place and many of them are opportunities for downloading trojan viruses to your computer. If people are not expecting your e-card then the chances are if they are aware of these scams, that they will be immediately deleted.
However, I think just emailing them will be fine

A very kind thought but a postal letter may be better as others, if like myself, will possibly be cutting the internet off as its a luxury can ill afford at the moment!

Hi, I agree I write to our friends in Perivoli every 5-6 weeks [which is a struggle with my limited Greek] and I know they look forward to recieving mail, and they are finding things hard at the moment, so every little thought means a lot to these lovely people. lorac.
