Well chaps just back from our beloved Sidari.

The weather was unbelievably hot!!! Far too scorchio for me though and I think I will leave August for all the sunworshippers next time lol xx

The beach and resort was quite busy and the bars and restaurants were also very busy.

There were all nations visiting the week we were there which included 250 slovenian youths all out to party for the full week. For the most they were pretty well behaved bar a few young idiots who partied far too hard and caused a bit of a nuisance of themselves in apartments and bars etc.

The main upset for us was that Mythos was closed down so we were not able to have any meals at our favourite restaurant!!!

We did however enjoy our visit to La Strata for a meal as well as Cactus Jacks. Unfortunately we never managed to get down to Orchard Taverna but will return when we next visit.

Not much else in the way of changes though but it seemed really much cheaper this year with drinks being cheaper and the food still representing excellent value for money.

As you will know I took the family who at the moment are still there and enjoying themselves thoroughly (especially at the beach with Akis from the Bed Bar!!!)

Anyway just trawling the web now to book our return trips for next year.

To all those heading out - happy holidays and remember plenty of suncream and mozzie spray xx

Hello Mrs Mushy ... glad to hear prices are half decent ahead of my visit next Monday (12th). Shame about mythos, I remember it as a good meal.

Glad you had a good time

Glad you had a great time on your return visit Mrs Mushypea.
Yeah if its the same Slovenians they were there the week we were too, one minute you saw one then the next there was loads of them lol.

I agree i havent been to Corfu in August since my mum took the family over 15 years ago and I love the heat but did find it hard to manage especially with the Ouzo side effects in the morning lol but as soon as I got home I wasnt long looking at holidays for next year.
Me and my friend did have a great time, and only got a few bites which was good.

Hope your flight was good too.

Welcome back Michelle, glad you had a nice time. Good to hear Sidari was busy as well. I too was surprised when a thread came up while you were away about Mythos closing early this year; it's been there so long and was popular.

Hi Michelle,
Glad you enjoyed your holiday, but sorry it was too hot for you. We were the same when we went to Portugal in July last year, it was in the forties, thats why we booked May for Corfu next year would rather risk a bit of rain. Glad Sidari still good to visit and busy, when we went to visit in June it was still quiet, so glad they getting custom. Get saving up for next year now lol Ann xxx

Hi Mrs M,
Nice to here you's had a good time, we too had a fantastic holiday and the hot weather added to it, Ive booked up to go back to the Loxides next year, great to see the friends we've made over the years, we tried the Orchard restaurant a couple of times & is now firmly a must when we go back.

Thanks Guys - yes I think I will leave August to all the die-hard sun lovers!!! It was still a lovely week although we never got to do what we wanted to do ie hire our quad for a few days it was just too hot and I didn't think I would have enjoyed being hot and bothered on a quad bike so we have promised ourselves next June when we are back we are going to hire our quad for a couple of days to get around the island when the temps are cooler and not as oppresive.

The beach was soooo busy though I have never witnessed so many sunbeds and brollies but I had never visited in August but it was great to see it busy. The nighttime was also busy on the strip and a lot of the bars seemed to be very packed!!!

My Boy (who we never saw properly for the whole week may I add!!!) had a fantastic time... he partied into the morning most evenings and think he only slept in his bed once when he was having an early night (3.30am!!!) He has already re-booked to return next June for 10 days with his friend who has never been to Greece or Corfu and already he is excited to be going back.

Hi there Mrs M, so glad you enjoyed your last break in Sidari. Know what you mean about August, very hot but luckily when we were over, there was a nice breeze (almost a gale for the last 2 days) for the 2 weeks of our holiday. Apparently when we left it got silly hot!! On our last night whilst waiting for the coach to take us to the airport, it actually got quite chilly and have never experienced that before in August. I had to borrow hubby's jumper to wear. Such a shame about Mythos taverna. We went there 3 nights becauoes hubby loves the lamb on the spit, but to be honest it wasn't as packed as in previous years and only a few tables occupied. Some nights no one in there at all. Very sad. Hope it may re-open next year. Good to hear your son had a great time also. My eldest will be 17 next year when we go, so hope he makes some mates along the way. Little one will only be 6, so big age gap. Can't believe eldest was only 5 when we started going. Years have flown past. Hope you book something up for next year and at a good price. All the best x

Thanks Jundas yes my mum has just got back this morning and said it seemed to be getting hotter!!! Whhhew!!! I am sure you son will make many friends when he returns. My boy hooked up with two lovely young chaps who were staying at the apartments and we never saw hide nor hair of any of them until they roused from their half hour cat naps... ready to do it all over again!!! Oh to be that age again!!! Made me tired just watching them all!!! Yes just checking out prices now and comparing so hopefully will have something booked soon x

Michelle we had a whistlestop visit to Sidari, saw where you stay (very impressed) and had a lovely meal overlooking Canal D'Amour. Could definitely be persuaded to stay in Sidari in the future...did find it very hot, but sadly we have no choice but to go in August, even though my 6th form son didnt come with us this year, our best friend runs an after school club, so we had to go August.
Have only ever visited in August (due to said son LOL) or end of May (again sons fault)...found end of May a bit hit and miss at times to be honest. eg no boat trips due to thunderstorms, much prefer August to end of May. One day we may be able to go June or September and I will be able to comment which is best, at the moment I am just envious!

Hi Stuart yes mum got back safely although she didn't prepare for the weather greeting her back in the UK. She stepped off the plane still donning flip flops and t-shirt but was soon back in the case for her shoes and cardi and jacket brrrrr!!!

But mum aunty sister brother in law and neice loved their holiday and sister and family are coming out with us next year for two weeks...

Glad you liked the looks of Christos Lizzie... we just love the place so much it's like our home... the wonderful views from the pool area and the little hidden coves are great. The apartments are spacious too and the bar in the evening in August was very busy and buzzing with activity which we really enjoyed.

You must stay in Sidari Lizzie to sample it for yourselves I am sure you won't be disappointed. Look at the Christos with Thomas Cook or you can book independently via sunmaster, travel republic or locostbeds.

I also found it really hot too!!! I much prefer June or even early July mind you as long as I am there - then who cares!!!
