Take a paperback as back-up. My wife's Kindle 'froze' for two days when we were on holiday!

My husband bought me a Sony E reader. It is brilliant, I use it all the time, and as for holidays, it is ideal. I lent it to my Sister when she was in hospital, now She said she could never understand why I bought it, she liked her books
Well people, she is now the proud owner of a sony!! lol..

Best thing me and my husband ever bought!! Its ideal for holidays as it saves carrying loads of books! Found lots of good books on mazon for less than a pound, some even free, and once its charged up it lasts around a month if you dont leave the wifi connected!

I love my Kindle, I've not yet tried any other sites other than Amazon, but I have found some good books, that were new releases that were discounted as a promotion for a new release. I've discovered some authors that I would never have found if I was just buying my paperbacks! It can get pricey buying the books, especially since they can cost more than a paperback, however they are always less than a hardcover. So if you are waiting for a new release that is only in hardback, it will save some money.
It was a godsend on the plane flying to Corfu this year and I never had an issue with it freezing. Battery life is great but I did take my charger just in case. I have the wi-fi model so I just downloaded a bunch of books before we left, and you can always go somewhere with free internet on vacation if he needs to upload more.
I too have found that I read much more with it. Now my husband will not go near it... he loves his books and I've not yet talked him into an eReader.

Hope he enjoys!

My husbands Kindle froze at one point, he contacted the Kindle people at Amazon by the computer, (just press the contact me button), they then rung him straight away and guided him through the process of what to do, it was very quick! He also damaged his screen, they sent a new Kindle out the following day! Its very good customer service!

I have a Kindle and I just LOVE it!! Just a warning though at airport security at Corfu mr jules took out his laptop, camera ect and put it in the tray for scanning but I didnt even consider the Kindle so my bag went through and the lady said "you have a laptop" no said I second time "you have a laptop" noooooo!!! So she removed my bag and emptied it...woops forgot the Kindle, I didnt half feel like an idiot holding up the queue so just remember to remove it first for security as its treated like a laptop..JULESXX

My husband loves his Kindle and was able to buy extra books when in Corfu with the free wifi in the apartments. Also unlike the iPad you can read in bright sunlight easily due to the way the screen is made
Love Bronwen x

I left a camera in my bag when it went through the XRAY machine and it burned out my LCD screen in two places. (more fool me for forgetting). So, the kindle would possibly do the same. I carried mine in my pocket and now I have a leather cover for it... (go to 7dayshop.com for some really cheap quality cases) as well so, its really well looked after when I am on the move.
