We are flying with Strategic Air and we have not paid the extra for 20kgs. We did this last time booking with Olympic flying with Monarch and when the tickets arrived we had 20kgs and meals. So we didn't do too bad.
Has anyone had any trouble checking in with hand luggage size? I ask because I have a cabin size case and although it looks bigger than an average bag, it is well within cabin regulations all over the world.
Regards,
Pegasus.

Do you mean you are flying with Olympic Holidays and their airline is Stategic. If you are you will be bound by Olympic's terms and conditions
Olympic's rules are (from their website)
What is my baggage allowance?
Book excursions when on holiday
The baggage allowance is 15kgs (33lbs) for each person. Infants under the age of 2 on the date of the return flight have no allowance. In addition one small piece of hand baggage per person may be carried, the dimensions and contents of which are specified in accordance with
current security requirement
This is normally 56 cms x 45 cms 25 cms but there is probably a weight restriction as well of 5 kgs on a charter flight (including handbags etc which must be inside the cabin luggage)
Best to call the customer services of your holiday company to make sure

Hi Pegasus, we flew Strategic end of June. 20kgs luggage per person if booked holiday with Olympic, meals are slightly extra but you will find this on your invoice. When we booked in at Manchester, some people were asked to check the weight and size of hand luggage, I wasn't asked, I had a large handbag which was carrying books etc. Bev

Hi Susie H,
Yes I booked with Olympic and am flying with Strategic. This happened with Monarch last year. We have received our tickets on Saturday and it says 20kgs and I have never received tickets to go anywhere in the world and that be wrong and I go regularly worldwide, but I will check to make sure. I did only pay for the 15kgs so we shall wait and see.
This morning I telephoned Strategic and they said their cabin bag size although smaller that the worlds size, my case still it within that range, so it will be 5kgs or under. My case is 51cm x 36cm x 21.5cm so I should be OK.
Many thanks for your help.
Regards,
Pegasus.

Hi BevD,
Thank you for your help, did you just pay the flat rate of 15kg or did you pay extra for the 20kg and not the meals? The invoice says nothing about weight, but the tickets say 20kg as they did last year. Thanks again.
Regards,
Pegasus.

Hi Pegasus,
You only get 20kg with Strategic (through Olympic) if you paid for the extra 5kg when booking otherwise it is just 15kg. However if your ticket that you show at check-in says 20kg then that is what you will be allowed. There was no checking of size on hand luggage when I flew in July and if you bag is only the odd centimetre different they probably wont notice anyway.
Meals again only if pre-paid. They do sell on flight but in my opinion not worth it. Best to eat before you fly or buy once through security and take on board.

When I booked last week for next year online at Olympic it came up as Strategic flight. I had to pay £3.99 per person for additional 5Kg to take me up to 20Kg. That is per person. Paid as I booked on double discount weekend so the extra discount covered the extras I wanted.
I have a feeling that Olympic are now only giving 15Kg and that you have to pay extra if you want 20KG

Ah I wonder then if they automatically took the extra charge for the 5kgs then??? I do know that their tickets all say 20kgs whereas my tickets are 15kgs with Thomas Cook.

Hi Pegasus, we never paid for extra kgs, we got 20kgs although the invoice said 15kg. We just find if you are with Olympic for a package it is 20kgs. Meals are extra but they are nice and about the same as buying take on in the departure lounge.
