Further to previous post:
value 200k 0 tax, 220 40 Euro,250 100,300 200,350 300,400 400, 450 500, 500 600, 600 900, 700 1500, 800 2400.
How they arrive at their valuations is a mystery to me and is there an appeal process or some alternative method of obtaining a reduction - nudge nudge!

Hi Peter
Is that a one off payment for buying property or the annual tax? If annual does that mean that any property worth less than 200K is tax free? Our property is a very small (45sqm + upstairs so therefore 90sq m of living space in all) valued at the most 100K and we had to pay E500 for property taxes from Jan 2010-May 31st 2011...(we could have transferred E11000 to our Greek bank account and not paid any tax - but unfortunately we havent got that sort of money spare (I wish) I am totally confused.

I too didn't transfer the funds over to my Greek bank account for the year ending April 2011 on a 55sqm property. My fine was 130 euros.
My English neighbour did transfer the funds on the same size property at a cost of 250 pounds in bank charges.
