If the dog has had his shots and is microchipped no problems- German vets all know their system as Germans bring their animals on holiday elsewhere in Europe often.
Tortoises- no idea but doubt if many formalities!

Thanks Jan. yes, German authorities keep us on our toes where papers are concerned. So she is already micro-chipped, pet passport, insured etc. Sulcata tortoises are not endangered so what not required to be registered for the stadt, hopefully no problems then when we bring them across. Michelle

Hi Michelle have you tried contacting DEFRA we had to when we moved our parrot although that was from the UK to Greece so may be different with it being Germany to Greece, it wasn't to bad just had to get forms fill in date of travel and countries we were travelling through sent this to DEFRA then we contacted a vet who with the paperwork had to examine the parrot on the departure day to say he was fit to travel. May be worth asking them. Good luck with the move.

DEFRA is for the UK. Germany does not have all the rules and regulations that UK have. As long as you have chip passport and are up to date with vaccinations including rabies you will have no problem with dog. Your vet might be able to help with info on tortoises, but I dont think it will be a problem. Good luck

Hi
When we brought Laura and Aron over from Germany we had the head vet for Stuttgart stamp all helth papers.
Drove down in a camper to Venice then with camping on board no problem.
Gisela sun and famerly brought their dog the other week over to us againe no problem.
As you have pointed out the vets in Germany are on the ball so if you have the papers for your dog you will have no problem.
Good Luck with the move.
Ray and Gisela.

When you will relocate to Corfu, don't forget to get your dogs vaccinated for heart worm, and by then I think the vaccine for Leishmania will also be available. You can have then done in Germany, or here, just don't forget to do it. These 2 illnesses are a real plague here.

Chrysilla - I've made note of both those vaccs and will make sure both are done before we bring her. Thank You.
Ray and Gisella - yes, got to keep our paper up to date here in Germany and the vets are always up to date with the latest info. Glad you had no problems, hope we don't either!
Loubee - yes will definately check with DEFRA, thank you. I would rather be over cautious than risk no bringing her.
SpearsTravel - Will be checking with vet, however this particular species doesnt even need registration with the stadt/council. Would probably need something if I ever took them to the UK though.
geordielass - yes, going to check with vet to be on the safe side, thank you.
