Well,
I can tell you that the weather here in Corfu is still very hot. Had really strong winds a couple of days ago due to the maestro, blew my troughs off the wall on my balcony, that's how strong the wind was. Still pretty breezy of an afternoon. But all in all, very pleasant.

Weather here today is lovely, but now that the breeze has dropped it'll probably be untenably hot by lunchtime. As for the economy, well that's a complete shambles and many people are genuinely scared for the future, myself amongst them.

Viv D,
Many Thanks for making a proper link to the article I raised - I am not very tech-savvy and also very new to writing on this/any forum.
The article is so jaw-dropping I just wanted to publicise it.

I'm afraid I can't do links either ... but another article to add to the mix is one from the Guardian yesterday by two Greek commentators.
The web address is far too long - so if you look on the Guardian website - European news - Greece, the article is titled - "Greece is standing up to E. U. Neocolonialism".
Completely the opposite view from the Mail - but we should take all points on board!!
As to the weather - phew what a scorcher!!!
I'd be really grateful if someone could link the article for me - I SO need to learn how to do this...

Viv,
Was your spelling of Cheryl a fraudian slip

No surprise that the Guardian article is the total opposite to the Mail. They're both rabid at opposite ends of the political divide.

A wise person once said "read the days news in all the different newspapers and somewhere in that lot is the truth"

Sorry Cheryl - think I had better go back to my corner.

Viv D - Thanks for providing that link! One day I'll learn how to accomplish it as well. Gotta love this forum! And all the members who care about each other enough to go out of their way to help in one way or another.   Good, bad or indifferent, it's all the information we share that brings us together in our love for Corfu.
